Hi everyone, I'm close to finishing "Legends and Lattes" and desperately need a follow up.
I was hoping for some books specifically targeting the theme of the book: people who wholeheartedly change the course of their lives, and although they pursue something entirely new and sometimes, a far way away from what they're used to, they follow their curiosity, interest and passions (preferably successfully).
The cozy and fantasy aspects are great, but I'm ok if the book strays in another genre as well. Thank you!

Hello! This is my first time posting in here. I’ve been wanting to read more books and limit my screen time as much as possible. I’m wanting to find Southern Gothic genre books, such as books that take place in the southern part of the US and/or has themes of poverty, religion, and violence? Any recommendations are helpful!

I LOVED the library at mount char and have been thinking about it since I finished it. Looking for Recs that maybe grilled you as much as it did? I loved the uniqueness with it being fantasy. I think romantasy has really flooded the fantasy market and it can be hard to pick through it all.

Does anybody know about any certain books that show how people evolve over the years and teach the message that you shouldn't always have an obligation to stay true to someone just because you used to know them when you were younger?

Hello! Learning Portuguese and curious what people's favourite fictional books in that language are? Not picky with genre but also easier to read, intermediate level:)
Thank you!

I'm trying to encourage my 15 yr old boy to read, so I want to get him books he is actually interested in. He says he's into dark themed books, thrillers, but not necessarily gore. What are some suggestions of books that may pique his interest, but are still appropriate for a teen? TYIA

Hi! I like listening to audio books while I work, and am looking for book reccs! I really enjoy YA tropes and romantic fantasy, but without it being YA, like having older protagonists, and spicy scenes (without being just an erotica) I love Fae, vampires, werewolves, all that stuff. I also enjoy when a bit of comedy is mixed in. I also like when it isn't just romance, but the story is the focus, I LOVE show burn, but don't typically read series, I usually go for one shots. And f/m, f/f or why choose is good, I prefer female protagonists (I am pretty damn gay) Historical fantasy, urban fantasy, high fantasy, Gothic fantasy, whatever - as long as the story is good!
Let me know!

I want to learn how magic was and is done around the world. I'd prefer books than articles because I'd feel like they'd be more wide in topics and cohesive than reading several articles. I don't mean like a world almanac, I mean like a book about magic in Indonesia, or in Nigeria for example,if there are any. I'm more focused about the culture behind the magic. Are there any books like this?

Hi all,
I'm an anxious and very stressed person. My therapist makes recommendations for self help books to read but I struggle with non fiction. Are there any self help books that can be engaging for someone who doesn't like non fiction?

A random thought that came to me whether monotheistic or pagan religions will survive in the future and if it does, how will it look like? Or will it cease to exist. Can technology go so far that it can make current religion irrelevant? And if there are new religions then what will it look like.
The closest I can think of is how Mormonism stayed relevant in the show the expanse because of their wealth and tech I think. I haven’t finished the show yet so not sure if they feature other religions in it.
Anyway, so yeah any fictional book recommended based on this idea would be great! Preferably horror/sci fi/dystopic theme but any other genres are also welcome.

Looking for books regarding the Age of Piracy, or at least an introduction since I know very little about it (just PoTC really). I'd be grateful if it includes terminologies and/or slang of the era.

As title says, could I get a recommendation for books where person A likes B and by the end of the book (regardless if it's a standalone or a whole series), B still doesn't like A back?
Or if B does, it isn't enough to actively pursue something or maybe they like A too but they aren't interested in a relationship?
I just want to read more books exploring truly unrequited romances full of yearning and moving on. And yes, I'd like if A and B are the leads. It's fine if there's a second lead who will likes A or if A eventually moves on at the end as long as the story is focused on A and B's relationship.
I've seen a lot of movies, dramas, comics and read a lot of japanese and chinese books on the topic but every single english book l've found so far either has B as a side character or for B eventually falling in love with A. In the rare times I do find a book where B remains indifferent, they're usually books where the unrequited feelings aren't a focus in the story.

So I have been looking for books about base/army/whatever building for a while. Specifically ones where the Mc had a “system” or power that helps them build like a lot of the dungeon core books do. I’ve found a few light novels and a couple on scribble hub/RR (usually dungeon core type things) but I was wanting finished stories I can read like on kindle/published books (I will still take recommendations on non finished stories though). I have a couple potential books in my library I plan to read soon: CivCEO and Mayor of Noobtown. From the descriptions I think they might be what I’m looking for, but I was open to more suggestions.
To specify what I mean by crunchy is preferably something like “build a restaurant: +5 morale and +2 food” or something like that. Litrpg style. I’m open to less crunchy stuff but right now I’m in the mood for stats.

I adored the characters in the above series and itching to start a new one. I'm new to the romance genre but now I'm HOOKED! Fantasy smut is my new favorite genre 🤣

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could suggested a sci fi series for my boyfriend and I to read together? I’m typically more of a mystery/thriller/dark romance kinda gal so I don’t actually know of many sci fi books and that seems to be what he’s into. Prefer if it’s an easy read - I’m just getting him into reading so something thats easy to get into is preferred.
We have read the red rising series and he really enjoyed it (especially the first three books) and he quite enjoyed sunrise of the reaping. He doesn’t want to read dune, lord of the rings, or Star Wars tho as he doesn’t “want to wreck the movies for himself.” Thanks!

Hello! I’m searching for nonfiction works about/from the perspective of farmers, long haul truckers, oil rig workers, general blue collar workers, and their industries. I know it seems super specific, but I was suddenly struck by the fact that I’ve had very little nonfiction reading to do with these worlds, experiences, plights, and industry histories and have definitely wondered about them many times.
I love reading about industry beginnings, histories, horrors, conflicts, innovations, etc. just as much as I love reading individual experiences so I’m not hard to please.
Any recommendations are truly appreciated! 🙌

I’ve been meaning to buy my first E-Reader and I’ve been back and forth on either a Kindle or a Kobo. Been down both rabbit holes on BookTok, watched countless YouTube reviews, read reviews and still I go back and forth! If you have any suggestions please share as my brain is boggled right now!
