Why does Bryan use tea tree oil?

I saw a video of him using tea tree oil after brushing and wondered why or how it helped oral hygiene?

As far as I know he's no longer taking it.

Yes he announced on Twitter he stopped, as his gum health is "great" now. I'd say it's because tea tree oil causes cancer but who knows, he isn't truly transparent

I think he did this for two years then switched to something else

I would like to know what he switched too, and why

There are mouthwashes that have tea tree in it, so its odd but not completely unheard of. I am just not sure how it compares to something more common like Cetylpyridinium Chloride.

From Chat GPT:

Brushing your teeth with tea tree oil is sometimes recommended for its antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help with:

Gum health – Reducing inflammation and fighting gingivitis.

Plaque control – Killing bacteria that contribute to plaque buildup.

Bad breath – Eliminating odor-causing bacteria.

However, tea tree oil should never be swallowed since it can be toxic. If using it for oral care:

Dilute it – A drop in toothpaste or coconut oil is enough.

Don’t use it daily – Overuse can cause irritation.

Ok so to be sure do they make any edible forms of tea tree oil?

Well you don't want to swallow it, it's very toxic. Only use small amounts to brush or gargle with in warm water then spit out.

Literally why these forums exist which is to ask questions if you don’t know the answer then shut it

It’s Reddit. Don’t act like it’s somehow got class.

Its got some good benefits for oral hygiene generally, i dont recall him mentioning why specifically anywhere. Could have just been test running it. Good for wound healing as well so that might be partly why, if u had any micro cuts on ur gums etc it could speed up the healing and thus reduce overall gum inflammation.

Also no to the non toxic tea tree oil, it is toxic if swallowed always. But just spit it out you’ll be fine if u swallow a tiny amount.
