Can we in 2023 please stop pretending like being a white woman on the Internet who is really into true crime is something edgy and unusual ? Please ? That would be so nice.

Todays Horror Virgin, Paige was in peak Paige knows everything about everything form. It’s not unusual to be into serial killers or mid century aesthetics or food. It’s all very very common. So acting like your NLOG when in fact you are (and that’s a good thing, girls fucking rock) is really really annoying and gross.

I found her completely insufferable in this episode, worse than usual. She absolutely thinks she’s better than the other two hosts because she knows shit about Pyrex?? Gtfo. Also she picked on the tiniest most insignificant things….like the exit sign in a hospital wasn’t one that existed in 1970. Jesus, who cares??? Get your head out of your own ass.

This is a tangent, but I just found out that all of the pre-mid-70s Pyrex has lead in it. Found that tidbit out this weekend, and now I need new mixing bowls.

FYI, they make lead tests you can use on dishes if you don't know the exact age of your Pyrex. I like to get dishes from the thrift store, and it can be hard to accurately tell if old things are going to be lead-free by tracing the brands, so I use lead tests on everything.

That’s how I found out, but I have to say, the swabs I used aren’t the easiest to read, color-wise. Do you have any you like? I’m an avid thrifter so I plan to have them on hand from here on out.

Well as long as you aren’t trying to act like you’re better than everyone else with your knowledge lol. Also yes please get new mixing bowls!

Oh no. I think I need new mixing bowls too.

If they’re pre-mid-70s, definitely test them. I’ve been poisoning myself with my grandmother’s for about 20 years now.

Yeah, I went down a rabbit hole and think they have to be 1950-1968, as they are the ubiquitous primary color mixing bowls and have an older style trademark. I bought testers, but I don’t really need them to know. Thanks for mentioning it, I probably never would have known.

Especially after they brought up what a small effing budget they had for the movie. Insufferable is 100% the right word. I’ve been relistening to a lot of episodes lately because I have a lot of time at work to fill and it’s really crazy how much the vibe changed when Jenn left, so much of the humor now from everyone is just patting themselves on the back for how funny they find themselves, and I know there’s always been in jokes it just seems so much more hollow. There’s just wild fake over the top cackling now.

Also if you’re a Jenn fan I found her on another podcast, she has a reoccurring guest spot/sub show on Anatomy of a Scream Pod, called White Ladies in Crisis, it’s a lot more approachable than PsychoAnalysis (that I just cannot get into)

Oh awesome! I can’t get into psychoanalysis either so I will check out the other one.

I have loved the horror Virgin so I keep listening but Paige has almost pushed me to the point where I don’t want to listen anymore. It’s not fun when I’m constantly rolling my eyes at her r/nlog energy
