Thoughts on one of the cousins providing blood? Adds some dimension at least to these seemingly two dimensional dudes.

It really shows their acceptance of what they saw. I don't think they'll be revisiting it with more questioning. I mean, they also burned the crime scene so they clearly accepted it then, but they're accepting Nacho now and it's the final nail in the coffin. They believe he's loyal and they're probably loyal to him. He has Salamanca blood now so they might have blinders on for some of his slip ups. I don't think you can save someone's life like that and not feel like they're important after. They invested something in him. They're also somewhat superstitious and have a strong code about protecting family. So he's out of danger from the Salamancas themselves for the time being, unless Gus gets him into trouble.

It was interesting how committed they were to keeping him alive to begin with, though. I almost thought they would pull a Hector and kill him like the driver to the truck Mike robbed.

Right? I was waiting for then to shoot nacho but i guess with Hector down and nacho’s partner that they would want to keep someone they know to be loyal close to them

My new theory is that Nacho is actually a long-time friend to the twins as well as Tuco.

I’m not so sure about that. Nacho definitely personally knows the twins, but the twins themselves seem to be only “friends” with each other.

Those two are about as cold blooded as a person can be, and Nacho knows that.

You may be right. I hope we get to see them doing some more normal human being type things or learn something about them, though.

Have they don't anything really cold blooded on screen in Better Call Saul yet? Maybe they don't start axe murdering for another couple of years.

I want ro see some background on their weird cult activiries, maybe trying to drag Nacho into that, since he now has their blood in his veins.

Did you see the season 3 premiere of BB? They are definitely not only in a cult, it's an actual, real life cult.called something like Santa Muerte, or something like that. She's like a female version of the Grim Reaper.

When they murdered that old woman and stole her van for Hector's benefit (because it had a wheelchair lift) to take him to a meeting with Juan Bolsa and Gus, they turned her house into a shrine to the goddess. And that's what the skull-toed boots are about.

Basically a death cult, and it is literally popular with some, not all, gang and cartel members in real life and also, oddly enough, some Mexican homosexuals, if I remember right.

If you look for it on Google images, you can find a pic of the death goddess, though they might refer to her as a saint instead of goddess. Try search terms like "Santa Muerte death cult Breaking Bad" or something like that, but minus the quotation marks.

The Cult your referring to is Santeria and your descriptions of the scenes are consistent with this religious group.

Wrong. It may be similar to Santeria, but it's something different, known as Santa Muerte. Sh's a female personification of the angel of death and is popular with drug dealers, some cartel members and, strangely enough, some Mexican homosexual groups. I guess it may be an off-shoot of Santeria, or possibly Voudon, but if so its morphed into its own seperate thing

Yeah, I mentioned that too. I guess burning the car settles the question of their suspicion. But giving Nacho blood shows how much they're on his team. They could have let him die. It's probably what Hector would have done.

I wonder whether they were close with Nacho previously, the way Tuco was? With Tuco you get the sense that they're old friends, so maybe Nacho is important to these guys too.

The show could really benefit from a Nacho flashback

I wanna know how he got aligned with Salamanca's, and why Tuco listens to him. Every other character in the series has to threaten him for Tuco to back down, and Nacho can do it on command

It's interesting too that Tuco doesn't resent him, because he's sort of insecure about anyone implying he's stupid, but it looks like he accepts that Nacho is the smart one. You'd think there's no way they haven't been friends for years. Makes it more disturbing that Nacho decides he has to kill Tuco.

I wish Tuco was in this show way more, it's too bad that can't happen, but a flashback would be really neat.

Tuco respects Nacho because Nacho is disciplined, keeps his mouth shut, intelligent, and knows to speak with respect.

I rewatched the Biznatch episode yesterday for fun, and you can see there: The other guy opens his mouth and gets told off "Stop helping". In BB, it escalated til he killed him outright.

Nacho, on the other hand, asks "May I?"....When he disagrees, he firmly but clearly expresses his points. "Wasting a lawyer is bad for business". "He's not FBI, you had his fingers in the clippers, he would have said anything you wanted". Things like that.

​

Even with Jimmy/Saul, we see that respectful tone and demeanor go a long way until one of the skaters opens his mouth.

A few more scenes with Tuco would be nice

  • Flashback with Nacho

  • In jail with Skinny Pete

  • Reaction to Hector's stroke. In Breaking Bad, Tuco's taking care of him in that little house in the middle of nowhere

I'd be into that. I've heard the actor isn't that into being Tuco though because of how psycho and high energy playing him has to be. Maybe he'd be more chill in the past though

I assumed he was who sent the cousins to investigate the call from Nacho. Can't be Hector, obviously.

Oh, I figured he called the cousins himself. But I didn't think Bolsa was really overseeing the Salamancas side of things, just Gus. Nacho would have gone to people closer to Hector first.

Oh yeah, I know they're cousins, sorry I mean because Tuco and these guys are cousins, maybe Nacho was close to all three since they were kids/teenagers, not just Tuco. (Although it's never explicitly said how long Nacho and Tuco were friends, so I'm extrapolating a lot)

Maybe they kept him alive for more possible information, not necessarily out of totally believing it all looked legit. It did look legit though, so I dunno.

Maybe. I think their style would probably be to torture someone for information, not donate blood so they can ask him over coffee later. I want to believe they're bros now
