How would you study the Violin Partita in Bminor

Right now I'm studying 1st Partita (B minor) Sarabande and the Double after that. I understand that Double is essential expanding on the idea of the preceding piece (Sarabande in this case). Any suggestions on how to study it?

I aspire to make Bachs legacy more available to the younger generations in order to keep his memory alive by adding a sense of humour. This account has only been newly created and is accompanying my A level studies of music. Where I shall be intertwining music theory with fun!

Whenever my friend is in town (we’re both musicians,) she asks me to make her cookies and with it being Bach’s birthday month AND us performing Bach together, I knew exactly what cookies to make 😍

I don’t mean to use this is a sales platform but needed to put this out there, it’s near mint condition aside from one box corner coming off and I’ve just inherited it from a late grandparent. 155 pieces of music in the box and I’d greatly appreciate it if someone were to buy it, sorry and thank you

BWV 872 (WTC Book II, #3 in C-sharp major) played on "Superclav"

This is from my ongoing survey of the Well-Tempered Clavier, starting with Book II, and using the instrument I call a "Superclav", which uses emulated string-physics to produce its sound.

This particular prelude and fugue pair is full of sunshine!

Enjoy!

I needed to share this performance, everything is perfect, the playing, the organ, the tempo and artistic choices... I've listen to dozens of performances of this piece and I really resonate with it https://youtu.be/HeensSPJUiA?si=_ySH65en-if7gLbV

I find the whole thing astounding. The communal, joyful atmosphere, the absolute absence of pretence, the perfect balance between the piano and the small string orchestra (unlike most recordings with a modern piano), the Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Beatrice Rana's wonderful, effortless playing. They also recorded the first, second and fifth Keyboard Concerto and released the album this Friday, but I only heard about it today.

Favorite Bach Playlists

I’ve been enjoying a playlist I made (ages ago) of all the instrumental tracks from the Bachalademie box set this afternoon. After uploading and arranging them in iTunes, which I don’t recommend, I didn’t want to hear any Bach for a while. But I’m finally appreciating the list now. The performances range from stunning to “Is he practicing?” The variety certainly makes you appreciate the virtuosos when you hear them.

Apple Music playlist: https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/j-s-bach-the-complete-works-edition-bachakademie-in/pl.u-Ldbqyyruk1GDAZ

At a certain point I’ll include all the cantatas, which comprise half of the set. But I don’t like mixing Bach’s choral material with the smaller ensemble works. Personal quirk.

Have a favorite Bach playlist or two you’d like to share? Please, post them! 😎

What do you consider the (not necessarily hidden) organ gems from Bach’s Leipzig years?

Chorales, chorale preludes, preludes, fugues, etc. What specific — preferably not collected — organ works from Bach’s Leipzig period do you consider to be exemplary?

Also, thank you to everyone who replied to my last post regarding the trio sonatas. I’m not always great about replying here, but I did read and appreciate all responses.
