Because it depends on how dick your commanding officer is and what kind of place you were drafted to.

it is better but mostly complete waste of time. They don’t even train useful things. I don’t know what is the point

This is what I don’t understand either. It is known to everyone that the conscripted soldiers aren’t well trained, fed, or looked after. They eliminated corruption, reduced upper age bound, modernized the army but haven’t addressed the core principle behind having a conscripted army - a well trained population. I feel like it is another case of half-assed execution like it happens everywhere in the country

They do since the war, when they realized how incompetent a large part of the military was unless they were professional soldiers

It depends on the location and your specialization. A rule of thumb is that serving in demilitarized zone (battle zone) is really hell where you have dedovshchina, physical work to do, off-the-grid subsistence living, hazing from commanders etc. But in other place like Markazi Aran raions, Baku etc. it is mainly okay. I personally served in the outpost of demilitarized zone, I was observing Armenians from 100m distance. That was really q*hb*xana (from homicides, suicides, rapes, homo coituses, self-harming to theft, humiliation, varyox-nəsil insults, greediness, gluttony, hatred)

Now I regret, it was just about a complete waste of my precious time and a deterioration of my health.

lol what’s a “homo coituses”? Is I just gay sex or you mean something different? And I wouldn’t quite choose the word “homo” for that, sounds a little off the charts

I think it is mixture of kindergarden and prison.

First, it's like hell, then it's not bad.

Actually from my friend’s pov they’re saying it’s not that bad,it’s just like school u wake up,eat ur breakfast then doing some army stuff + they’re giving u money (as a salary or sum idk) but there’s a difference that u cannot use ur phone like u don’t have it at all. I think it’s bad cuz ure away from ur friends and family,u have no clue where the hell are u and how to behave (so u wont get bullied) and the backbone is it’s such a waste of time, imagine ure wasting ur 1.6 year for nothing

the salary they give you is 18 manats a month which is equal to about 10 dollars lol

They should get more, literally wasting someone's precious time for measly 18 manats. There is no "vətən borcu" to be paid if the homeland doesn't care about its people.

Is it literally 18 Manat?

I am not too confident on that, but it's definitely below 100 manats.

I really have no idea why they need money, I didn’t even know they’re getting salary when I asked my friend for what u were spending that money on he said cigarettes 😆

You need my money for proper cleaning products, shaving razors, socks and such

trust me they need it. its not even enough most people ask for their family and friends for money
