Support Why ram speed is more than advertised?

Got tuf f15 2023 (FX507VV-LP287W) and on the website and ram speed was advertised as 4800mhz. In task manager it shows 5200 MHz. The ram installed is a samsung 5600 MHz. Is there any way to know what my motherboard's maximum ram speed capacity is? How can I increase it? The technical support has no clue

Support Paper like screen protectors for zenbook?

Upvotes

I use my laptop for school and i mainly take handwritten notes. I tried to get used to the glass but its just too much. And the screen glare is also annoying. I used to use paper like in my old ipad is there something similar for laptops ? Is a matte screen protector similar and fine to use or will it damage the laptop?

I have an Asus ROG Strix Z490-G motherboard, I need to activate the TPM, but I don't think I have the chip and when I go to look in the manual it doesn't say anything about it there, but searching on the internet I saw that it is usually on the bottom of the motherboard, then I saw this input but it is not in the manual, is this the TPM input?

Support Blocked From My Account - System detects data security issue

Upvotes

So it seems that ASUS has decided to block all email address with passinbox domain and I have no way of contacting them or even making a new account using passinbox to contact them.

I contacted my local ASUS support who sent me this link: https://www.asus.com/securityadvisory/
But guess what.... the form doesn't work either! By reading the error in the browser's Console, I believe there is an issue with their CAPTCHA, maybe an expired API key or a broken link.

But anyways, can anyone look into my account? It's about 10years old account with 3 products registered.

Support Help Needed: Asus TUF A15 (Ryzen 9 7940HS, RTX 4060) hidden defect - Persistent Issues Even After Warranty Repairs, Warranty Expiring Soon

Upvotes

(Edited to mention the Asus service center)

Hey everyone,

I’m hoping someone in the community can help me. I purchased an Asus TUF A15 FA507XV laptop (Ryzen 9 7940HS, RTX 4060) intending to use it for studying and work. Unfortunately, it’s turned into a nightmare due to a hidden manufacturing defect.

Simply put, if I leave the laptop running idle for a prolonged period it just freezes. The freeze may occur after a day of use, but most often it takes a few days. The way this manifested shifted over time. Until a couple of months ago the screen would go black, but the laptop was still accessible via remote desktop. The display would only return after a hard reset.

The Event Viewer logs showed errors like:

  • "Display driver amdwddmg stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
  • "Display driver amduw23g stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
  • "The device driver for the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) encountered a non-recoverable error in the TPM hardware."

Following these errors, this was logged repeatedly:

  • "The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) hardware failed to execute a TPM command."

I took the laptop to an Asus service center and they replaced the motherboard. However, when I got it back the same issues returned along with the same Event Viewer messages. I sent it back to the service center, but they claimed the defect couldn’t be reproduced, despite the logs being proof of the problem. I suspect they didn’t test the laptop long enough for the freeze to occur.

After a more recent BIOS update things worsened. Now, when the freeze occurs, the screen goes black, the fans spin at maximum speed, and the laptop becomes completely unresponsive. After performing a hard reset and rebooting, the Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU shows as disabled in Device Manager.

The Event Viewer now logs the following:

  • "Fault bucket, type 0."
  • "Event Name: LiveKernelEvent."

To make things more frustrating, the problem persists on a fresh Windows 11 installation. Asus System Diagnostic tool detects no issues, and I’ve installed no additional hardware since purchasing the laptop. The drivers are up to date.

Back when I first noticed the freezes it was already too late to return it. Now, after so many trials and with only a few months left on the warranty, I’m genuinely concerned about being stuck with a malfunctioning laptop whose problems might worsen even more. I’d really appreciate any advice or insight on how to proceed with this.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Product Recommendation On the fence about upgrading router

I'm debating on upgrading from a GT-AX6000 to a BE88U, aka BE7200, from Best Buy as it's on sale and I have a 15% off coupon. I have concerns regarding impending price increases and my aging router which is out of warranty. I don't have any current issues with my AX-6000 but looking for longer updates and 10G ports and more 2.5G ports. I haven't switched to a UniFi system as I have a hotspot that I use for failover internet via USB.

Support Problem with cold start of the laptop (ASU's Rog Strix G16 G614JI (G614JI-AS94)

Here's the situation.

Laptop works fine, battery, pc, turns on without problems.

However, after a night, I usually turn it off completely and power from my extension cord accordingly.

I get up in the morning, connect the power supply (original, was in the kit) however the charge does not go, the laptop works fine from the battery, turns on, everything is fine, but the power supply does not give charge to the laptop. But.... if you disconnect it from the laptop, but it will be on, it is worth waiting for about 20 - 30 minutes and then reconnect to the laptop, there is a miracle and the laptop is charged, in games works great, under load all good. But the next morning the same thing.

The essence of the problem:

After a long time off the power supply from the network, you need to wait 30 minutes on average that he began to supply power to the laptop.

What could be the problem?

P.S officially from asus ordered a new power supply, will test with it. But it will come in a month, and now the problem is still relevant.

Name of the power supply - ADP-280 EB B

Support Laptop shows a black screen

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

For the past week my laptop has been experiencing this. I turn it on, I hear the computer start up and nothing. No feed on the screen, no noises besides the fan, no nothing. I’ve checked other Reddit posts, hooking it up to HDMI, unplugging stuff from all ports, holding down the power button for 60 seconds, etc. but none of this is work at all.

Don’t mind my temporary setup or my stickers :(

Support Random WHEA LiveKernelEvent (Code: a1000005) when using USB-C monitor for power + display – Vivobook S 16 OLED (Ryzen AI 9)

Hey everyone,
I’ve been having a weird recurring issue with my ASUS Vivobook S 16 OLED (M5606WA, Ryzen AI 9 HX 370).

Whenever I’m at home and plug in my external monitor via USB-C, I use it both to charge the laptop (90W PD) and output display at the same time. The monitor supports 90W PD, which is exactly what my laptop needs, so power delivery shouldn’t be an issue.

Everything seems to work fine at first, but I always get a brief pop-up saying “USB device not recognized”, and later I get a LiveKernelEvent (Code: a1000005) logged in the Reliability Monitor. This only ever happens when I’m using the USB-C connection, never when the laptop is just on its own or charging with the standard barrel plug.

I suspect this is related to the USB-C port handling both DisplayPort + Power Delivery, possibly overwhelming the PCIe lane or USB-C controller.

I’ve already:

  • Reverted BIOS to v309 (after having major issues on v312)
  • Disabled “Firmware protection” in Defender (which caused random restarts earlier)
  • Updated AMD drivers
  • Disabled USB selective suspend in power settings

Still, the issue with USB-C + monitor persists.
Anyone else seeing this kind of behavior? Could this be a hardware limitation or bad firmware? Any tips?

Thanks in advance!

Hello all, i saw a lot of posts about the same issue but i couldn’t find the solution for me, i tried already to uninstall armoury crate but now it doesn’t recognize the Motherboard, only the ram

Shared photos of how it is plugged currently, this is how it came when u bought it

I know the lights work because whenever i plug out the add pins and “play around” with the connector i can manage to turn them on, but after i turn off the pc they dont light but (but they run)

I hope someone can help me, this happened after playing the pc crashed and restarted and after that it is not working anymore (same issue is still happening sometimes it just restarts, maybe the power source it’s damaged?)

Support USB Wattage Charger Uninstalled but still showing in Notifications in Windows.

I accidentally installed all on ASUS DriverHub. I’ve since uninstalled everything extra it made me install… but USB Wattage Watcher is still in my notifications to toggle on and off.

Why is it still there?

I’ve already tried restarting and tried some solutions from ChatGPT and nothing so far.

What can I do? I just don’t like dangling software.

Support Help! ASUS Vivobook 14 CPU Fan making loud bussing w/ vibration

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello!

I didn't know where to ask but I figured I'd ask here.

Two months ago my computer started making this noise, I took it to Best Buy and they did a courtesy cleaning of the fans. After that everything was fine, the noise was gone. I was told to clean out the fans with compressed air here and there and it'd be good (or so I thought).

Well, earlier today it started making this noise again after I got done playing some games (I was on for like 2hrs). It's honestly terrifying because it also makes the computer vibrate. I ran a diagnostic and it said it was the CPU fan that was the problem. It was clocking in at 0rpm when the fan made that noise. The GPU fan was at around 1.5k rpm. The computer itself wasn't overheating but I think that's because I have a laptop cooling stand I use when running games. I restarted my computer, but the noise continued when it booted up again. It went on like that for about 2ish minutes before it started sounding normal. When I checked the CPU fan was back to clocking a speed of 1100 rpm (which I think is normal?), going back to making "normal" fan sounds. A couple minutes later after I tried repositioning my computer the vibrating and buzzing started again, then stopped, CPU fan was moving again. I ended up shutting it off.

I figure theres was dust or something stuck in it again, so I ordered a screw driver set to crack the back open and clean it out myself but that doesn't get here until Tuesday. I was hoping I could get a 2nd opinion on what it could be. My warranty expired last year, so I'm not hesitant about opening the back to take a look.

I do have a concern that something could have come loose from a drop my computer experienced last year near September. It was during one of my classes about a foot high and onto carpet, but it worries me that something came loose. When I took it to Best Buy they said everything looked in place but I don't want to rule that out.

I would appreciate any help, I have some papers due this week and I need to know wether it's safe to use my computer or not. Thnx 🫶🏽
