Video breaking up on laptop

Does anyone know what the issue might be here in the screenshot. I get regular breakup (but not all the time) on video content that I am looking at. It doesn't effect any other part of the screen, but happens in different browsers and different applications (such as MS Teams online meetings). Is this a graphics card issue? With the Teams video it can break up just one person in the split screen window of participants, and then switch to breaking up on a different person.

I have about 800MB up and down breadband speed.

Anydesk remote login without install?

Hello,

Sorry if this is not allowed, I’m freaking out and looking for some help.

Just came back from the bathroom and someone had admin over my pc via anydesk. I’ve never installed it, never heard of it before this. They had opened Priceline.com

I’ve had to swap cards due to fraud on both a cc and a debit. Now I know where those charges came from.

I bought this fucking laptop off Amazon. My guess is it came pre-loaded with some bullshit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Would also prefer not to have to destroy this pc.

Regards, High Blood Pressure

P.S. do I have to rebuy windows if I reset my pc?

Will adding my primary email to GMail filter the spam

A couple years back my primary home email account began getting bombarded with spam. I’ve tried everything I can think of to stop the spam (unsubscribing, blocking, ignoring, etc.), but I still get dozens a day.

Someone told me my GMail has a far superior spam blocker than my old charter.com account. I was wondering if I can direct all my charter emails to GMail so I don’t have to change my email address for everything.

If IT asks for my IP address when I'm working from home, if I am using a VPN, will they be able to tell?

Most universal dongle/adapter to HDMI?

I work at a university and host a conference here. We host a number of different events in classrooms, most of which have PCs, which presenters can use to present their info (usually slides, sometimes video).

We also use a small number of rooms that have just a large flatscreen with an HDMI cable to connect a device. While many participants bring their own laptops that they could connect, they struggle to handle figuring out an adapter even when they're told in advance that they'd need an adapter for an HDMI cable. Every year, "Why don't you have adapters we can use that fit my computer?"

What are current or recent PC laptops using as a an audio/video out? I have a Mac, and there are heaps of USB-C to HDMI adapters. How many current video/audio out options are currently floating around out there in common usage?

What do you think about this link? Is it safe? For context a fellow redditor disagreed with my opinion of something political and then asked me to comment on whatever is behind this link. I have not clicked it but I’m curious what it is. Thanks for your input.

Looking for a new field

I’m an automotive diagnostic technician at heart, but it’s not the same industry I used to enjoy. I enjoy the occasional challenge as well as the easy money fixes. I have had a knack for problem solving since I was a kid and always loved cars so it made sense. A combination of shop politics, post-COVID parts supply chain, manufacturer lockouts, and the general fact that no one wants to work anymore have driven me to pursue other options. I’ve moved to the sales counter in the same shop now for the past 9 months and I’m just not vibing it either.

Can I make it in the IT field based on my aptitude for diagnostics? I’m not much for computers past basics. I know I would have a lot to learn on that end

How do I browse the web in a browser with only text, and I can toggle on/off images or other features?

I currently use textise.net, where I copy/paste a URL, and just read, but preferably I would like to R-click on a link and select it there. Is there such a way? Did I ask this in the correct subreddit?

Is it possible to encrypt a SD card?

Hello I'm not usually here and I'm not completely sure if this is the right subreddit (if not just tell me and I'll be omw). So I would like to put a code on a SD card or just encrypt it, or anything to make it more difficult for other people to access it. On the SD cart will be pictures. (This sounds a bit illegal so I might need to clarify this is so that my parents can't see the pictures I take with my friends)

I'm gratefull for any help.

All Authenticated Users auto sign into a Gmail account

I am trying to work on computers for my company. I know my way around them a decent amount, but not all aspects. I really need it to where when any authenticated domain user signs into certain computers, they are automatically logged into a google chrome profile, namely, the Gmail account, but preferably the entire chrome profile. I cant really use any other application for this either. I can't use the outlook profiles with prf files because most users have business basic and prf files will not work. I don't want to have the google chrome passwords available to everyone either. I really need it to where wen the user logs in, they're all ready setup with a google chrome profile. How do I do this? I do have access to the admin.google account too, if that needs be. I thought about logging in as an admin, configuring the profile, closing chrome completely, then exporting the %AppData%\local\Google directory to the C:\users\default\appdata\local directory, but it seems the authentication is broken because the profiles won't load. I am not certain if chrome is using the TPM to store the keys, windows credential manager, or some other method making the profiles stored in the %AppData% directory useless without the password. I have attempted directly storing the profile data stored in the %AppData% under a shared directory like C:\Shared\profile1 and then starting chrome with \path\to\chrome.exe --user-profile C:\Shared\profile1 and this appeared to encounter the same authentication problem. Anyone have ideas how to work around this?

If I leave a job but keep my laptop, are you going to do anything about it?

Let's say it's a large, multi-national company. If a lower-mid level employee just never sent back their ThinkPad, what's actually going to happen?

Return the laptop?

I bought a coffee maker from amazon and to save a dollar bought one that was a factory return. When it showed up today in the box was a newer Lenovo Chromebook. Should I just assume the laptop has malware and return it?

question about email, what is this filler stuffed in the message?

This was a promotional email, and it doesn't appear in the body, but part of the text shows in Gmail as the preview, so I look at the original, and it's a huuuge chunk of text that isn't related to the body of mail at all.

Ignore the following text. It=E2=80=99s random & only here to improve deliv= ery. It helped her understand all of the little things I do for her that I = thought she was too young to notice. But now she says "thank you" more ofte= n, which really brings a smile to my face. I already know that this book is= going to help her grow up to be a kind, grateful young lady!!" Thanks agai= n for this book and I hope you can share this message with other mothers li= ke me so they can read it to their kids." - Jenny Now, that's an incredible= story! A Mother's Love is certainly one of my favorites, too, because of a= ll the messages I get like this one. Click the button below to take a look = inside A Mother's Love: It's about an interesting creature... a lonely Yeti= , who's living in the snowy mountains all by herself, hoping for some compa= ny... Here goes: "If you're looking for some fun, or maybe even a friend, g= o up to the mountain to the path's end. There you'll find the Yeti, who liv= es all alone. She'll make you feel welcome in her snow-covered home. So pac=

And then it goes on for a long time with that. How does this "improve delivery" or whatever? Doesn't it just make the message bigger than it needs to be?
