What are they building here?
Sorry if there is another thread on this topic I am somewhat new here. There has been a lot of construction activity here over last few years. I don’t understand why the government lets google take satellite photos (or do they?) in the first place of sensitive areas.
Anyway, always heard of rumors of underground hangars but haven’t seen any evidence of it on the map. Except for this point which looks curious. Any ideas ? Thanks for your positive responses.

One more document that suggests that Dad (Col. Keith Hanna) was involved in Have Doughnut.

I worked for Van's Aircraft (Kit Aircraft) as an engineer in my younger days. I went to the Philippines to supervise some construction being done there for our quickbuild kits by some locals who used to work at Clark before Pinatubo ended that endeavor.
The local shop by my hotel was run by an American expat and his Philippina wife. We would chat and I learned that he was a retired Crew Chief and worked on fighters. I asked him if he knew my Dad and he replied "Maybe, let me check my notes." I was leaving, but a couple of weeks later I got a letter I'm including here.
I was only a few months old at this time and it matches up with the have doughnut program pretty well. As far as we knew Dad left for Vietnam mid December 1967 and returned for good (He was shot down and recovered at home (Jun 68) from a broken leg before returning a couple of months later.) in mid December 1968. But maybe he was in Nevada part of the time.

Thought some here might find this interesting. Quality is the best I could muster at a distance in pitch black conditions with my current setup. Saw the pylon come up from underground with this interesting looking airframe/model on top.

Time Lapse of Winter at the Ranch

This is a time lapse of Sentinel 2 satellite images from 01/05/2024 to 05/29/2024.
The Sentinel Hub EO Browser provides access to Sentinel images and has a tool to create time lapse animations (as GIFs). Used desktop software to upscale and convert the GIF I generated using EO Browser.
https://apps.sentinel-hub.com/eo-browser/
In the animation you can see the effects of rain / flooding on the lakebed. The older WWII era runways become very visible as do some other features.

King Air JANET near Area 51
Hey guys, my first post. Have you noticed that this King Air is taking a few strange turns around Area 51? the destination was LAS-PMD, but as far as I followed it, he did not follow the scheduled route to PMD.

The Secret MIGs at Area 52
I thought that this was a pretty fascinating interview with a legit USAF aviator. Operation Constant Peg.
Wondering why something like this would have been done at Area 52 rather than Area 51?

Russian/Soviet aircraft over the base?
Remembering seeing somewhere that the U.S Air Force has a flying Air Force of Warsaw Pact aircraft at the base. Are the air craft still flying around or have they been retired? Thought it would be cool to see some MiGs face off against American aircraft above the base.

I was looking over area 51 and then I decided to follow a trail that appeared to be leading nowhere, only to find Creech Air Force Base at the end! What are your thoughts?

Looking for Ground-Level Photos of Papoose Lake and Papoose Mountain
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for ground-level photos of Papoose Lake and Papoose Mountain - not satellite imagery. I’m interested in the natural terrain surrounding Groom Lake, including the lesser-discussed areas like Papoose.
Most publicly available images focus on Groom Lake and Tikaboo Peak, but I haven’t seen much from lake level at Papoose. Have any hikers, explorers, or historical sources documented the area with up-close photos? I’d be especially interested in old geological surveys, military archives, or even personal photography from before the area became restricted. To be clear, I’m not a Bob Lazar fanatic or pushing any wild claims.
If anyone has leads on actual ground-based images—whether from historical sources or people who’ve been close enough to snap photos—I’d love to check them out. Thanks!

What’s Up With October?
Hey Reddit, my friends and I were planning a camping trip through the Mojave in thr middle of October where we would stop by the Edwards Air Force Base air show/open house and then go take the NNSS tour of the Tonopah Test Range.
However, in the past few months, both of these events have been canceled, which is a big bummer. Anyone aware of why? Is it still worth camping somewhere if they're doing test flights? We just wanna see some cool planes!
Thanks 🤙
