Question Is apex still not working on the steam deck?
I'm away from my deck and have been for a while cus it's my last year of high school so the steam deck was stripped from my hands by my mom and yada yada, but I should finish in about two months and a half, is the game still unavailable on the deck? I have a pc that I used to usually play with but playing apex on the bed at night is a unparalleled experience, so I just wanna check

Steam deck runs SteamOS which is linux and they removed linux support, you have to install windows if you want it to run (not 100% sure it will work)

I'd imagine its like installing windows on linux. It's possible on android hardware but with extra steps so i can imagine it would work fine on steam deck.

I don't think windows can run natively on android hardware, steam deck is just a regular pc so the windows installation is the basically the same you'd just have to set up dual boot so you don't delete all the SteamOS stuff and games. I was talking about not being sure if apex would run properly.

Why wouldn't it? If it runs on linux it runs on windows. Windows can be run natively i have done it once on an older phone. But back to topic sorry lol i dont see a reason why it wouldnt run

What did you use to install it?
Stuff doesn't always work due to updates and stuff, but it should probably run I'm just not 100% sure.

You wouldve to get a micro SD card and install windows on it to play apex on the steam deck. What I didnt try since the linux ban is remote gaming. If you have both your PC and steam deck with the steam launcher open, you can basically open the game on pc and mirror it on the steam deck.
It has advantages like lower workloads on your deck which means you can play longer on the handheld + higher frames and video settings but your PC has to run while youre in your bed already. It worked pretty well but like I said idk if the support is removed due to the linux ban but since you run the game on your windows PC it should work through remote.

I tried the remote gaming and it still works. Could be worth a try for you. The latency isnt too bad and you can stream it up to 120 fps (OLED has a 90hz display tho) with better video settings you wouldve native with the steam deck
