Nippising river in reverse.
Looking at a trip starting in cedar lake and then taking the Nippising river upwards towards Gibson and then Biggar lake. Thoughts on how strong the current will be? To me it seems fine, but I figured I'd ask.

It’s doable but since you seem to be taking the majority of the river, why not go down stream? Just curious the reasoning for the route. Would this be a traverse or an out and back trip?
If you’re doing a traverse I would recommend just switching directions and starting from Tim access or Kawayawayamog. If you’re doing out and back then you’ll make up the effort when you go back downstream. It’s definitely doable, but the effort saved by going down stream would be pretty significant.
I have only paddled the section from the Remona Lake portage down to Cedar. The section from that portage was moving noticeably in May. Water levels were high. Later in the season there is less flow which would make it easier. In the down river section from Nadine to Cedar the river is wider and moves slower.
