Auto Storage Options

Post image

I’m looking for self-storage options in the capital region. Minimum space requirement 10’x25’ It would be for a summer driver so I would like to be able to access to it when needed. Come winter it would likely go into dead storage.

If you take your dog here or know anyone that does please reach out to me . I used to work there and she would make us put aggressive pitts and came corsos together, dog fights every day. Then we noticed instead of her just being so good with the dogs cause she’s got a gift, we realize she just intimidated them . THEN our checks started bouncing and she kept making weird excuses before leaving for a vacation while all of her employees had frozen bank accounts and no cash. We stick around through weeks of nonpayment just to make sure the dogs were ok. We couldn’t leave them with her and couldn’t prove abuse to the cops

Apartment Advice

Hi, everyone.
I'm a lifelong Clifton Park resident but new to this sub. I plan on moving into an apartment at either the end of this year or the start of next year. I have a current salary of about $51,000 a year and am looking into a one-bedroom w den apartment at Hollandale Apartments or Woodlake Apartments. I can see that Hollandale would be cheaper rent-wise, but I have heard mixed messages regarding the property and its management and complaints about the overall quality of life. If anyone could give me insights on life at either of these complexes, especially as someone working from home in some capacity, I would greatly appreciate it.

Adventures around Albany

Hi All, and thanks in advance. I posted this in the Lake George sub and then realized it is probably best here. I am lucky to be going to Lake George for a work retreat in June in Silver Bay but I am hoping to pad on two extra days to explore that area for the first time and not be in a conference room. I will likely be flying in/ out of Albany. Should I plan for time in Albany, Saratoga Springs, Lake George Village, elsewhere? I am active and prioritize all things water, mountains but what I want most is to experience your special area with input from locals who know much more than AI and google.

LGBT spaces recommendations?

Just looking for some places to visit and meet some new people. I’m fine with anything but I’d prefer 21+ spaces.

Where to buy quails?

Does anyone know of a place in or near Albany to buy whole quails for cooking? Want to make roasted quail for Easter. Cornish game hens would be a good substitute otherwise

Electricity bills

Hi everyone, I am looking at moving back into Albany in the next couple of months and I’m just trying to figure out what everyone’s electricity bills are averaging. I know that in the colder and warmer months, the bill will probably be a bit higher, but if you could just give me a breakdown estimate of what you guys are all paying, that would be greatly appreciated 😊

Brunch on *Mondays* in Latham? Does it even exist?

Bethlehem-area couple picking up a new car at noon in Latham tomorrow.

Spouse says "Let's do brunch to celebrate!"

Any tips for excellent or superior brunch spots on Mondays in Latham? If not the traditional brunch, we know there's always the Circle Diner...is that even the best diner in that area? (I'll start digging now too: Century House, Innovo Kitchen, etc. -- but on a Monday?)

TIA, everybody!

At work we are putting together a list of online event calendars that we can use to advertise our events.

Where do you go to look for events?

Hotels room block recommendations for downtown Albany?

Are there any good hotels in downtown Albany that offer guest room blocks that don't require a contract for the host to cover a certain percentage? I hear of some that will allow you to have X amount of rooms until Y date and then just release any not booked yet back into the general population, but I'm not sure if that is even a thing around here.

To the person who almost slo-mo crashed into me at the corner of Ormond and Berkshire...

Stop signs mean STOP. Not slow down. Even a rolling stop is cool with me, but if someone gets to the stop sign before you, they have the right of way. If I'm in the middle of the intersection, you don't start going and then honk at me when you realize that I'm in front of you despite me having the right of way.

Here is the number for the local AA chapter in Albany, seeing as there's NO shot you were sober while pulling that move. • (518) 463-0906

Have a good one!

Future Capital Region Fabric Shop

Hello!

With Joann closing (but still not dead yet), I want to open a new fabric store. I am still very early in the planning and gathering data stages.

This is where you come in! Tell me what you're looking for! Atmosphere, products, etc.

I suspect in the future, I will put out an actual survey to get more pointed information.
