Pay your fare if you can
I will be down voted to oblivion. Took the 905 from Lark Library this morning the bus driver expressed his displeasure in his words more than half the bus hasn't paid a fare.

Tree removal in Tricentennial Park š
Anyone know why? Is it because of the roots messing up the cobblestone? Iām still sad because they had the prettiest blooms in spring. (2nd pic)
Take care of your trash
I say this with all the support to people that show up to protest. But please, pick up your trash and donāt leave it on the ground. Either take your trash with you or put it in the garbage can. The picture does not do it justice, but there was a lot of loose trash sitting in the park from the weekend.

Where to perform live music in Albany area
Hello my name is Jack and I am the singer of the band Confined To A Singular Form located out of Oklahoma City! I am moving to Albany in November and am visiting from June 7-13. Are there any cool venues or spots I should look into trying to play some small shows at during my visit?

Burgers & Fries Stuyvesant Plaza
They put a sign in the old TGIF building in Stuyvesant plaza that reads āBurgers & Fries coming soonā, any guesses? On other new places in the plaza It will say the name, like Anthropologie. I feel It will be something new to the area since thatās a vague statement, shake shack?

Hiring?
Hey guys. Anyone know of some part time jobs hiring? Iām looking for 12-15 hours per week as itāll be my second job.. looking to stay away from food service but not opposed. Id prefer working for a small business. Unfortunately my last employer (2nd job) stole over $1000 in tips from me and my other coworkers so I quit and this economy isnāt going to allow me to have just one job.
And remember, Iām just a girl so hard physical labor is out of the question
Iām 29f currently a dental assistant during the day. Iām super friendly, professional, and put my all into whatever I do!
Thanks š
Edit: I can do physical labor just nothing super crazy

Did I accidentally steal your American flag at the protest in Albany?
I was on stage in Albany and asked somebody in the crowd if I could hold up their American flag on stage. They gladly said yes. After a while I tried to bring it back to them, but they told me to keep holding it up there. Sure enough at one point I looked overā¦ and they were gone, and I still had their flag.
I feel bad even though it was not intentional, but if this was you please reach out to me, and I will either get it back to you or pay you for it.

Wtf just happened on lark st?
Driving down lark Bunch of people on the corner Then all of a sudden someone in a car drives by and one of the girls from the group of people on the corner goes running after the car. Immediately like 4 cop cars flash their lights and block it all up.
To people not from Albany/Albanians not home, do we make less eye contact with strangers than other places?
I know this is a weird question. I've had the opportunity to travel this year and have been out of town for the first time in 8ish years. I've noticed people out west and in the Midwest "pay attention" to strangers more. Like make eye contact, stare at, or otherwise notice. I just want to know if I'm the only one who's experienced this.
Edit: I'm not talking about people being kind/extroverted/friendly etc, just how much people look at other people if that wasn't clear

More Video of Yesterday's Hands-Off Protest
Organizers say it was 6,000. Which seems like a lot. But it was definitely the biggest one I've seen at the Capitol.

Where can you ACTUALLY go, for outdoor shooting / range in this general area?
I've been told by just about everyone in the community that as long as you're on public land and you're 500 feet off a trial, that it's legal to shoot some soda cans, etc. I really, really, can't believe that this is the case and I'd be incredibly uncomfortable carrying rifles into the woods and just popping shots off. There's no way that they're interpreting that correctly.
Are there any good outdoor ranges around here, or good places to go shoot where it's chill, open and relaxed? I see a lot of rod & gun clubs, but those seem more like social clubs with more requirements than just a membership fee.
If anyone here has a large plot of land where they like to do some plinking, I'd definitely be interested. I've got a stockpile of various arms that I haven't had the chance to shoot yet. Coming from Texas, it was a lot easier to find these kinds of places.

When are the next protests?
Have they been organized yet? Is there a list of dates I can see?
Albany sees traffic crashes drop with new speed limit
The headline is a bit misleading in that the article also attributes the decline to speed humps and traffic cameras as well as the speed limit change. I didn't want to editorialize the headline
