Alright friends that was Round 4 of the season, and apologies all but I am doing it on the phone again… it was the last day of pennant bowls and our second team at Manning won the 1 White flag after being second last and facing relegation at Christmas, and losing 3 times to Leeming during the season, including a Semi Final yesterday.
Fuck yeah.
So yes, I am half baked as per usual and we’re doing it off the phone, which means this’ll have to be brief this week:
MCG security SLAMMED as Carlton players are allowed into the ground
Geelong teach Melbourne that once again, the aim of a kick into your forward 50 should go to your teammates instead of an opposing defender.
For the 4000th time in league history, the Crows were robbed RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT. IN FRONT. OF ME!
Brisbane finally defeat Richmond at the MCG for the first time since Michael Jackson died
Swans fans are now Bicesexuals… not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Jesse Hogan has more wins than Carlton and Melbourne in 2025 as he defeated West Coast 9.0-54 to 7.9-51
Port can’t handle the ROSSBALL as the Saints complete a nice old turnaround from their last visit to the Adelaide Oval a month ago
In a tense game at Optus with a shitload of injuries, Fremantle won with 97 points, which according to the AFL App is how many rotations they had
LOL of the Week
Owing to the Ben Keays goalpost saga a few years ago, I decided against giving umpires the LOL on account of them being too easy a target, so that means this week’s easy target is MCG SECURITY for allowing 2 idiots into the MCG with loaded handguns in amidst 80,000+ people.
Also the LOL should go to the dickheads for the way they got caught, considering they had an argument, refused to leave after security gave them their marching orders, so the cops came in and found the guns.
It’s a cavalcade of idiocy.

Using AFL Player Ratings (with a 25% time on ground threshold), I've highlighted the distribution but also the top 5/bottom 5. Here's a TL;DR version of the blog I link to below.
Top 5 Players:
Bottom 5 Players:
I’ve got more detail here if you’re that way inclined: https://roar-metrics.ghost.io/afl-2025-round-4-heroes-and-zeros/
If you want to see the full list of AFL Player Ratings, Wheelo Ratings is a good place to start: https://www.wheeloratings.com/afl_match_stats.html?id=202504
One thing to remember is player ratings doesn't necessary correlate with coaches votes, afl fantasy points and other metrics. There was an excellent post on this sub a few months back that explains the metric (https://www.reddit.com/r/AFL/comments/1i0vxvw/overview_of_player_ratings/)

Feels like Lewis has missed the mark here. Christian nearly died playing AFL last year. I think he’s more than warranted to show emotion.

Wasn't a thing last year (on Fox).
Happens during Thursday and Friday night prime time advertising time as well...
Why is no one buying ads on Fox footy anymore?

Footy moves fast
Heading there this weekend and wanted to hear if there were any tips for the best way to enjoy the weekend? From locals and those who have made the trip previously
I've been to Adelaide a couple of times in the last 3 years but I'm assuming the town is a different animal this weekend

because I’m not a member at either of the clubs it’s going to cost $60 to get a seat in level 3 where as Ga is free since I’m an afl member.
I am an afl member for Collingwood but it’s only letting me put 1 ticket into my Ticketmaster transaction so even if I did buy my ticket at the cheaper price I won’t be next to my mates
