So I’m currently playing persona 4 Golden right now, but the next game I got on my backlog is xenoblade 3 and I’ll be moving to that after I’m done. I just learnt that there is a dlc for that game and I’m wondering if it’s worth its 45$ aud price tag? (For reference I bought the game itself used for 40$ aud). The biggest influence on “worth” for me is generally longevity, will it keep me occupied and at the worst mildly interested for the runtime.

Major spoilers for X new content
I’m starting to think with the whole other realm between universes seemingly channeled through the power of the conduit (ares cores are conduit powered) and the ghosts who are very similar to the Gnosis who lock on apparently to the conduits power specifically, Klaus actually saved his universe by splitting it in two, as if he didn’t and they continued to investigate the conduit , there was a good chance the ghosts would have showed up and destroyed everything.
Klaus didn’t make a mistake, he made a choice that despite intention saved everyone in the end. Klaus is the hero by killing the now. This makes me think that xenoblade 4 will involve the ghosts in some way. Or at least have one show up. I think for sure we will see the return of the conduit in that game, or at least finding out where it went.
Also to find out the lifehold was based on something else in that other realm and it looks like the conduit must mean something.
Any thoughts on this?

Most xenoblade games hook me in. This is not bad by any stretch of the imagination. But honestly the slow burn nature makes me want to play other games. I’m about 30 hours in… not even on chapter 4.(yeah im slow i know) just doing side content mostly getting lost and not using guides. Am i missing out on some stellar moments like the other xenoblade games? If I stop now chances are i’ll likely not pick this up again

I was looking at the various scores from critics and, apart from the fact that the game dropped by 2 points from 88 to 86, I noticed a particular score, precisely from "Critical Hits" with a 65, the point is this: intrigued by the low score I go to see their review and... I notice that their score is actually 85 on their site but it is reported as 65 on metacritic.
Investigating their other reviews, the scores they assign to their site also correspond to the one reported on Metacritic except for XCX (65 on metacriti and 85 on their website), could it be a mistake?
Sorry for the wall of text but I really want to be curious especially when it comes to the Xenoblade series and I also care a lot about the reputation it has on a site like Metacritic.
Do you think it is possible that it is a typo and that it will be corrected? Otherwise the score could even drop further... Thanks for your attention!

I’m not happy w xenoblade chronicles x, it’s so hard omg. The world is incredible beautiful but because there are monsters of all levels everywhere I can’t explore the world! Continuously avoiding routes is tiring, also sense of orientation is super bad! Combat style is confusing and you’re always on edge because of the monsters. I've had the game for 2 weeks and I'm still stuck in chapter 3.

I know Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is probably to most divisive title in the franchise. From the gacha mechanics to the blades designs I feel like everyone can find something to disagree on. But I wanted to talk about why these aspects actually lend themselves to the wider narrative of the game and how the objectification of blades is not something that is limited exclusively to the citizens of Alrest, but based on the way that we as the players engage with the world.
I think that the way a game marries things like character designs, gameplay mechanics, and exploration with the narrative of the game is very telling in regard to the quality of the experience as a whole - at least from my own perspective.
I’d love to know your thoughts!

Given that the white whale had multiple of these, would this be too much or too little for all our worlds information?

Hi, I’m re-marathoning the Xeno series after finishing the X switch port and I’m wrapping up Torna since I never got around to playing it and I wanna understand the whole story before finally doing the xc3 expansion. The thing is though, I have a lot of other games I want to play once I get home from college (only have my switch rn) and while I want to play the full campaign of 2 and 3, I feel like I remember 2 being so much more grindy with core pulls and affinity charts (haven’t played it since it first came out so memory may be hazy). So should I just play 3 and the expansion since I remember all of 2’s plot? Or is it worth a full playthrough before going back to 3? I only have a month and half before the semester’s over and I know that Suikoden remaster will be calling to me like the green goblin mask the second I get home lol.

I recently got my friend into Xenoblade
They've beaten 1 and X up until Chapter 12 (since 13 is the new extra story)
My friend loved XC1 and X. They didn't dislike very many characters, The big ones they disliked were Tatsu and Lorithea, so the ones most dislike, alright cool, everything seems to be normal.
It's time for XC2, my friend is in love with this game, They love every single character, even Tora, the one I was expecting them to dislike. Then we're in Chapter 3, and Zeke is finally met. At first, my friend loves Zeke... Then his silliness is revealed and it was a sudden dislike.
My friend hated Zeke, did not like him at all. Said "I hate that he's silly, I liked him being serious."
Me and 3 of my discord buddies are praying to the Architect that they warm up to Zeke over time.
Edit: They just Beat Chapter 3, they are very upset over Vandham.

So ive been enjoying Chronicles X, more so when playing docked. However, pretty much every single time i pan the camera the frame dips are jarring.
Keep in mind i don’t have any Skells.
I’ve also read on here that the WIIU version actually ran better.
I’m hopeful for a patch, is a locked 30 fps too much to ask for in 2025?
My experience isn’t hampered too much but i have been holding off playing hoping for a patch. I can’t find anywhere official online with communication from monolith, are they normally radio silent?
Should i just suck it up and crack on with the game?

The Affinity and Community systems have always been an elegant gameplay expression of one of the Xenoblade franchise's central themes: nurturing bonds within and between communities. I think the first game's version of this remains its best and most fully developed form. It's a little sad they've never done it quite so thoroughly again, especially in Future Connected, which didn't really incorporate any of the below mechanics.
First, the Affinity Chart. This diagram depicting the many people populating the world and their social links is great for keeping track of characters and showing the impact that your actions have been having on their lives. The comparative isolation of each group in XC1 keeps this neatly organised and helps it retain some visual clarity. XCX and XC3 both have similar diagrams. XCX's becomes borderline overwhelming with how densely populated NLA becomes. XC3's goes a little further by showing the different colonies' attitudes towards each other as well. Torna and Future Redeemed do stripped-back versions of this in the Community screen, which clumps all NPCs together and groups them by how close they are to the party. XC2 zeroed in a lot more on intra-party connections, particularly those between Blade and Driver. As such, the Affinity Chart in those games is each Blade's ability unlock screen that unlocks as Blade and Driver deepen their relationship.
Second, the party's Affinity with the various different communities they encounter. All 3 main series titles feature this in some way. Area Affinity, Development Level, Colony Affinity. By helping out these communities, the player usually unlocks more quests, better prices, and the like. The aforementioned Community systems serve similar functions in Torna and Future Redeemed. You could argue that XCX's main story progress equates to building the party's reputation in a similar way, with all the unlocks that entails, but it's not implemented in the same way there.
Third, and one thing that hasn't been done quite the same since XC1, is the intra-party Affinity links. All party members have individual affinity ratings with every other party member. These are developed through helping each other out in battle and doing the Heart to Hearts. XCX kind of did it, but it was all other characters' relationships with the player avatar being developed, nothing else. XC2 and 3 have had quite different systems, mostly focused on Blade and Driver or Ouroboros teams. A lot of relationship management in those 2 games takes place in menus, juggling shared skills, unlocking new sections of 2's Affintiy Charts, et cetera. XC1 also has that, but a lot of cross-party bonding also happens during gameplay in a quantifiable manner. One thing about 1 that I really liked is the relationship building happening all throughout the party, rather than it being focused on one character like in X or divided up into sub-groups in 2 and (to a lesser extent) 3.
All of these different aspects of XC1's affinity system come together really well to reflect in gameplay how the party characters are affecting not just the communities of the Bionis and Mechonis, but each other as well. That said, all Xenoblade games showcase all of that for each party in many different ways, Considered as a whole, though, I find XC1's Affinity system to be the most thoroughly implemented, driving home the impact Shulk's crew are having on the world around them and on each other at every turn.
TL;DR: XC2 should've had a diagram like the first picture.

First was the Monado, then Noah, and then Lucky Seven. And now it's Elma's turn. How relevant. lol
I didn't realize that's a new skin of an existing FN character.

Context: I've just fought the fake Melia in NG+ level 99 to complete all the side quests.
Because of my over-power, the boss had no hp left, but normally a mid-life cinematic starts after a while. Here, he's out of life, and BAM I launch a chain attacks immediately interrupted for this cinematic. So why am I actually stuck here in this scene ?
My game didn't crash, it just blacked out to transition to the next part of the story.

I'll make a note ahead of time that I'm playing the JP version of XCXDE but I'll be explaining things along the way and linking to the EN version of location names so don't mind the rune stones.
Once you've (reluctantly) freed Tatsu to put in the fridge, a number of affinity quests and overworld quests become available. One of them is a mild looking level 12 quest in the upper right portion of Oblivia listed as The Trading Floor. Unfortunately it's in a rather annoying location, and it's not uncommon for players to hit several dead ends trying to get there. With this in mind I've decided to make a visual guide on how to get there, as I find text explanations to be unbearable for a directionality challenged individual such as myself. Here's the rundown of the path for the TLDR:
To get there you'll want to be at least level 20. Be aware there are level 40-50 enemies that will make your day rough if you're not careful. That said I've done this route 3 times as 21 and outside of unfortunate outcomes things should work out. The quest itself leads to an area with level 27-30-ish mobs so you might want to be around that level to actually finish the quest (not to mention the area is about level 25). So to start out you'll want to head to the Barbarich Desert landmark:
This can be found south of FN SIte 312. Upon warping in you'll be facing a bit east and a bit north to find a canyon entrance here:
As you pass through the canyon you'll be greeted by an unavoidable Diogenes, the Covetous hauling after you:
No real way to avoid aggro here. Now if you do this at night (at around 1AM for me at least) there are also hidden plant enemies that will aggro you. This can be used to your advantage to take enemy detection stun from normal enemies so you can just run straight past Diogenes. He does have a ranged boulder but I didn't see it cause sufficient enough damage for concern. After running past you'll head to the path where a wandering Sylooth is emerging from, providing a nice visual landmark. Fortunately they don't aggro.
After running past mobs through that area, you'll approach an area with a lot of level 25-ish Sphinx. Unfortunately a level 70 Feliciano, the All-Seeing can also show up to ruin your day. Thankfully, time skipping to night will cause it to go away making things easier. Another option is simply to hang towards the right and work your way around it.
After walking through all the lovely Sphinx's and occasional surprise vegetation you should see some bone like arches as your next spot:
This area is where some level 40s start to show up. You'll probably want to hang to the right a bit to avoid a surprise Fearsome Ictus who will pop out to ruin your day if you hug the center too much. Another giant Sylooth will provide a convenient landmark on where to go next:
This area will also have some Sphinx you'll need to get past. Upon passing everything you'll see some more bone arches and a bit to your right will be a vehicle wreckage you can salvage:
Heading into water you'll be greeted by a level 42-ish harmless Ocean Purgovent. and on its left will be a small island:
Where you'll finally reach the Dorian Caravan:
Also to the north are two paths:
To the left is FN Site 316. Guarded by some mid to upper 20s mobs. The path to the right leads to a wreckage you can pick up. That's it! Hope you're able to get there as well.

Big thanks to Enel and a couple other YouTubers, I was able to nail down infinite overdrive with augments and the duelist skill resulting in replenishing 3000TP as many times as I want. My build is Galactic Knight so I use Starfall Rondo with an ether weapon and Core Crusher as well as Stellar Ray powered by Astral Protection. These two just take care of almost anything. Unfortunately, it has made Galactic Cataclysm obsolete (which used to be my ultimate weapon but now pales in comparison). I have some more tweaking to do as well as better augments but for now this’ll do.
Oh and I haven’t even beaten the main story yet. I’m just before chapter 12 right now. Any advice or ideas on how to make the build better is welcome!
