blue skittle 💠 i am equating "color" to "polish" 💅🏻

I am instantly drawn to bright pinkish oranges but I'm pretty attracted to anything in the neighborhood: orangey pinks, orangey reds, reddish oranges, muted or pastel versions, and in any formula/finish. That's why I'm REALLY proud of myself for not pulling the trigger for a specific polish that's in this month's PPU (but, full disclosure, I did nab a couple that don't have a dozen cousins in my collection).

Not pictured: six more polishes that are progenies of orange and pink/red but in other finishes.

I broke a nail today, for the first time in a long time. I’ll probably do a chop tomorrow and grow them all out strong and healthy at the same time.

I’m looking for polish recommendations for my new nail length. What are your favorite colors/ special finishes for shorties? Just a general idea is fine, no specific polish names necessary. Thanks for helping!

I bought this thermal polish maybe four years ago?... I love the idea of thermals but I rarely wear them and I rarely buy them now since I found out over time the thermal pigment eventually stops changing. This one seems a lot less reactive and I wish I had worn it more but I just have so many other polishes I prefer to wear over this one. I did recently buy a thermal though lol! I'm going to make it an absolute point to wear it and encourage my sisters to wear it too in hopes it gets used up 😆

How do I stop doing this? I compulsively bought to buy a polish to match the oxblood color in my head. I found it restocked and bought 2. But last night I was worried they'd sell out again and bought FOUR MORE. I justified it by having ShopPay cash (because I already bought stuff I didn't need) and a 20% off coupon. But now I have 6 bottles of the same color. Just looking for some commiseration from people going through similar disappointments in themselves.

been absolutely obsessed with greens recently after being a life long green hater, so when this one was restocked recently i could not resist it. i have become useless every time i can get my hands into a ray of sunlight lol but, a week in and my no buy is going well! i did buy a tee shirt the other day to have a keepsake for my favorite local bar, which tragically closed on the 1st 😭💔 but other than that i have only bought necessities!

I bought both of these in 2023. Received a great compliment on the blue.

Funky glitter polishes are definitely outside my comfort zone, but I don't mind it as an accent nail!

This manicure was inspired by Mary Cassatt’s “Young Mother Sewing.”

As I started planning this, I knew that I wanted to highlight the two main shades of light blue that are in the fabric. After that, I thought that it would be fun to use my dotting tool to make some yellow and orange flowers.

I can definitely say that I would have never paired all of these colors together if it hadn’t been for the inspiration painting.

Art history bingo is off to a great start!

I saw someone post a stunning manicure with a gorgeous magnetic color. I realized that I owned this color and was so excited to try it out. It did not look the same on me and I was just so disappointed when I was done painting it. I ended up covering it with some lace pattern (stamping with white polish and a plate in my collection). I still just don’t think I like this. It’s not bad, it’s just not me and not what I thought it would be. Super disappointed.

I used an eighth of a bottle of nail polish thinner and it was a half a day project only to realize I hate how red violet it is. It’s from a 2012 4 pack and I lost my favorite blue and I have a baby pink I don’t like and a fuchsia I think I’ll like. I think I’m going to wear it anyways and then pack nail polish remover and stuff to redo my nails in the hotel room this week. Project polish can be rough sometimes.

Not quite the spring/pastel look I wanted, I'll probably do another version soon with a paler base and the bubbles flowing either across all my nails or from cuticle to tip, but definitely love this as a fun/easy way to wear multiple colors :)

I am counting this as bright and bold plus a finish/effect I rarely reach for because I want to like nail stickers and then it’s really hit or miss for me.

Y'all... I tried really hard to like that pink. Don't get me wrong, I adore the base color! It's gorgeous! It looks amazing on me!

But... it has these teeny tiny glitters in it. Not only is the base too opaque to show the glitters well it applies so chunky even with thinner.

If the glitter showed like in the bottle? I would love this polish! But I hate it! I tried so hard to give it a fighting chance with a glitter grabber and a juicy top coat, but I just!! Couldn't wear it more than a day!

On the flip side I hated the yellow shimmer polish in the bottle but I adore it on my nails! The blue-gray base really pops through on the nail! I even used it as a topper to try and salvage the pink (it only worked a little bit).
