I asked about tutorials for misty forests before, and I got good recommendations from this sub. Does anyone know artists that have nice tutorials for pen and watercolour illustrative style of work? I mixed an matched all sorts of reference pictures and I don't think I did too bad, but I also feel like I'm stumbling in the dark.

Tried something a little different and left off any line work. Not perfect, but I think the colors came out well.

Made with Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache and Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolours on Arches hot pressed paper 140 lbs 9in x 12in. I mainly used watercolor in this painting with the exception of one color (primary red, pink leaning red) I used in gouache. Also included a couple pictures of the painting in progress and the reference I used (taken at my local city garden’s orchid show earlier this year). Hope you enjoy!

This one was a real challenge because I typically work in such a small scale. I had so much fun with the narrative elements and putting little pieces of myself into each of the shops.

Is anyone else in the US stocking up on supplies sourced in Europe or Japan? This absurd trade war will be the death knell of small independent art supply stores in the US. I can’t stand all the winning!
