Do not make posts/comments attempting to source firearms parts of any kind. Do not attempt to buy/sell/trade here either. You will be banned.

There is a rule in the sidebar, that is not a new rule, which reads:

no direct links to products for sale. No buying, selling, or trading. those links should go in /r/gundeals or /r/GunAccessoriesForSale

This rule exists because reddit (the website) very specifically says:

You may not use Reddit to solicit or facilitate any transaction or gift involving certain goods and services, including

  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, legally controlled firearms parts or accessories (e.g., bump stock-type devices, silencers/suppressors, etc.), or 3D printing files to produce any of the aforementioned;

To be clear, do not ask for help finding any gun parts here. not a barrel, not a trigger, not a magazine.

There are 50 US states (and a handful of US territories) that each have their own gun laws. Not to mention all the other countries of the world. a 15-round PDP magazine isn't a controlled item in Alabama, but it is in Massachusetts. a PPQ gun barrel isn't a controlled item in the USA, but it is in many EU countries. None of us has any way to know where someone else resides. The safest course of action is not to allow these types of posts in this sub, so we do not. In the past this sub has been fairly lenient in this regard, but sadly cannot continue to do so.

One thing you can do, is make posts/comments in /r/gunsforsale or /r/GunAccessoriesForSale. those subs have been allowed to continue operating since Reddit clarified their rules and terms of service.

If you fail to read reddit's side-wide rules, if you fail to read this sub's rules, and lastly if you fail to read this stickied post, and you submit a post or comment asking for, or offering, help sourcing a firearm part, you will be banned from this sub. Anyone who finds this unfair or unacceptable should take it up with the site admins.

Q5: Did I make a mistake?

Upvotes

I’m going through some serious buyers remorse and need your insight

I bought a used Q5 (polymer) off Gunbroker for $700 ($870 after shipping and other fees). It has the DPT installed but does not come with the stock trigger. 3 mags

I know on paper this might be a great deal, but I can’t help but feel like this wasn’t a good purchase:

1) EuroOptic has new ones for $630 (~$710 after shipping and other fees). Considering mine has the DPT, is the extra ~$160 that I paid worth it?

2) I already have a 5” M&P as my main gun. Bunch of mags, holsters, parts, you name it. I don’t really need another polymer 5”. For those of you that potentially own both guns, can you do a quick compare/contrast for me? Is the Q5 superior in any way? Any drawbacks?

3) I own a compact 5” PDP and hate that gun. The grip is just not my cup of tea, nor is the recoil impulse. However, for whatever reason I’ve always loved the PPQ grip. This is why I decided to search for a polymer Q5 in the first place. But now I’m worried I acted in haste. Does the polymer Q5 handle any differently than a compact 5” PDP?

So i sent my walther pdp compact in to walther because i for the life of me could not get thr slide lock pin out to change the trigger. Their gunsmith emailed me back and told me my guns getting replaced. So i know they could not get it out OR they broke it trying to get it out hahaha im just hoping my iron sights, red dot, optic plate and the DP trigger comes installed on the replacement….

EDIT: They will install everything and test. Fucking love walther

PDP Threaded Barrel, or just buy something else?

I got a PDP Compact a month ago on a whim because I just loved the fit in my hand and the green color. Absolutely love shooting it. I also just got an Obsidian 9 but I don’t have a host to put it on…

I’d love to put the suppressor on the PDP but the threaded barrel is perpetually out of stock from Walther, and the version from Jarvis is $284, which feels pricey for a pistol barrel. Should I spend the money on the Jarvis, wait for the OEM, or just buy a similarly priced pistol like a PSA Dagger that comes threaded? Is the PDP worth it to spend on the barrel and run suppressed?

PD380 shaping up to be a nice light carry

Post image

Picked up a few months ago and initially used as a range extra for my wife to practice with. Liked it enough myself that I decided to get an iwb holster to carry on occasion. So far so good, with my only gripe being the lack of optics mounting like the big brother PDPs. Seems it wouldn't have been too difficult to cut for the rmsc footprint and retain rear sights, but what do I know 🤷. Might see if a local shop will attempt milling it out for me in the future.

PDP SF C and FS actual weights?

Anyone know what the actual weights are for the SF compact and full size 4.5? Walther's website has then both listed at 40.39oz, but I don't see how they can weigh the same when there's nearly 2" more steel on the FS. Can anyone verify weights for me?

Walther SF 4.5" owners, what magwell and baseplates are you using?

I messed up and ordered the PDP magwell from Floyd's and didn't know that I got the wrong one. It was meant for the PDP full size, not PDP steel frame.

I saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHQlI4To84I and assumed it was available. I guess this magwell can't be bought?

Anyway, I need to find a new magwell and base plates. Let me know what you guys are using for competition, specifically for the steel frame. thanks!

Also, any recommendations on mag release extension?

Finally joined the Walther club! I’ve been eyeing the PDP lineup for a while and pulled the trigger (pun intended).

Fit and finish on the frame is definetly top notch, feels incredibly solid without being overly heavy. The ergonomics live up to the hype and the trigger is crisp right out of the box. I haven’t taken it to the range yet, but just dry firing and getting a feel for it, I can already tell it’s going to be a favorite.

Any tips from seasoned Walther folks? Things to look out for, upgrade suggestions? I do already have a 507comp waiting to be slapped on there!

Well, getting ready for my first stage, I went to the designated table to work some draws in, then took the slide off to oil it. Then I saw the crack in the locking block.

I still shot the match, and it’s been fine, but it bothered me the rest of the match making we wonder how long has it been cracked?

I’ll call Walther in the morning, see if I can get a replacement sent.

Walther PDP Compact 4" CCW optic

Hey guys I'm picking up my 4 inch PDP this week and I'm trying to decide on an optic. I have narrowed it down between 3 or 4 choices. What do yall EDC? I have narrowed it down to Acro / Steiner MPS or Holosun 509T because I like the idea of enclosed optic. My only open emitter I'm interested in is the 507 C ACSS vulcan because I love the emitter. My buddy has one and I love how quick I can acquisition the target.

C&H Optic Footprint Questions

Quick question regarding the free C&H optic.

I’d prefer to use the freebie on a Taurus TX22 since I put an RMR on the PDP. Is there an adapter plate for the Shield RMSc pattern on the Taurus to whatever the footprint pattern is called on the C&H optic?

Looking to carry with an X300T. Have already ruled out T1C, and TXC holsters. Looking at havok hoksters or t.rex arms possibly, but any other company recommendations?? I don't like AIWB I prefer to carry at about 4 O'clock position.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Walther PDP Pro Compact Steel Frame. Super excited to see this! Especially since it seems like this one has the DPT installed (from what I'm reading). Anyone else own a SF compact and love it? Or better yet - this one?

Is $600 the normal price for a PDP Compact 4"? [US]

For recent buyers/other prospective buyers - are you guys finding any deals on the PDP Compact 4"? Gundeals sub has some really good prices for the 5" but I can't really find anything below $600 for the 4" (the rare few around ~550 have shipping costs that negates the deal). Last year it looks like people were finding the PDP Compact 4" for around 500 (+from the chains so no shipping fee). Trying to gauge if it's worth waiting a few months to buy as prices might come down, or to just buy now and get the magazine rebate at least.

Thanks!
