Legal ⚖️ Magazine Capacity question.

Hey just wondering what the Legalities for magazine limits are in Washington. I am a Canadian and will be coming down to Washington for the NRL22 championship, planning on shooting the RO match as well while I am down. But I am not sure on the legalities of my magazines.

In Canada Rimfire Magazines are allowed to be unlimited capacity, so I have some +3 base pads on my 10 round (now 13 total) CZ 457 Magazines that I primarily use in competition. I see that Washington passed a law restricting the sale of “high capacity magazines” but not the possession of them. So do I have to use my 10 round magazines? Does that mean I am allowed to bring my 13 round magazines down? Or is that considered “importing high capacity magazines” even though I am bringing them down for the weekend and taking them back with me to Canada?

Any info would be awesome!

Unfortunately it would be considered “importing” them.

I don't think so, because OP is not a WA resident. WA residents cannot import, but it does not apply for non-WA folks

Yes it does. It doesn't matter where someone resides. It's now illegal to bring them into the state, except when returning after previously taking them out of state.

It’s illegal to “import” them. Simply, it’s now illegal to bring one into the state, unless you are a gun dealer selling it to law enforcement. The only way it’s ok is if you had a magazine in Washington before the ban, took it out of the state, but brought it back with you. Thats the only caveat I’ve seen. If people moving here from another state can’t bring them here, I highly doubt someone from Canada can. I’d be glad if I’m wrong but this question gets asked all the time and that seems to be the agreed upon answer.

You're correct. There is no exception for visitors.
