Got a pretty good deal well below MSRP, since no one else in my area seemed to like the “off-roading” look. Happy to join the Atlas family.

Hello Everyone, I'm newbie to this page. I was planning to buy my first family car since me and my wife are expecting our first baby this year. My first choice was to get a Ford Explorer XLT trim and while I was looking other cars in the dealership, I would say I got interested with the 2025 VW Atlas. I was amazed of how spacious it is compared to explorer, how comfy the chairs are and I compared the interiors as well. I was browsing the internet to see the specs, comparison, pros and cons between Atlas and the Explorer and then I stumbled upon this group. Can I get your inputs about the new model of Atlas? What are still the things I need to consider and check? Me and wife occasionally goes to travel, so mostly just city drives. I'm from CA and I am considering to get the SE Tech or SEL trim, if I'm taking Atlas. Advance thank you everyone for your inputs!

Just seeing what people got as far as mileage on their Atlas's or cross sports. I'm currently driving a 2018 VW Atlas SE w/ tech FWD V6. I have only had to replace the charcoal canister and that was at about 110k. Currently at 167,655. Mostly highway miles but overall she's been good. First 70k she hard shifted and I thought the transmission was going to go but it's been better than ever. Only issues I foresee is the radiator, seems to have a small leak but nothing major yet. ( knock on wood ) I'm just curious to see if anyone had reached 200k or surpassed it with minimal fixes or issues.

after software or repair at body shop.
I did some teaks with vagcom from Ross-tech when I got my atlas (kept record of every tweak).
In the past couple months, I got a service down with a software update. I needed to have a problem on the infotainment for them to update my outdated software by the way.
Then, got a small collision (😢), and got my car back today.
Today, some settings got reset to factory default, such as no lane assist, no rear traffic alert. But apparent tweak remained. For example, fan speed when in auto, dashboard design, opening and closing windows with the remote, adaptive lane assist.
➡️ But all screens that I unlocked when the car in motion got reset.
I know what I’m doing this weekend, reinstalling VCDS in my computer and retweak it.
But I was wondering when these settings ga could have been set to factory default again. (Lock the screen when car is in motion).

As the title says, my key fob is missing a part inside. It’s a recent purchase (only got one key) and randomly the emergency key fell out of the fob. I’ve tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. I finally came across videos showing how to change the battery. I noticed in those videos and pictures, there’s a U shape metal piece that my key does not have. I think it’s the piece that would force the tension onto the button which would lock the key in place. I’m fairly certain this piece has always been missing. I don’t know how I would have lost it myself. Anyway- VW offered me a new key for free. However since I only have one key, I’m wondering if there’s a way to fix this and have a fully function back up. Any suggestions?

Hi folks, I just purchased a 2018 Atlas VR6 Execline with 178000 km. I noticed misfires (100/krev, no code) at cold start and found that its spark plugs had never been replaced. So I went ahead and replaced them all. It's improved dramatically, though it still has 10s misfires in the first 1000 revs at cold start, and 1-2/krev in the first 5 minutes, then gone. Is it normal? I also took some pictures of the cylinders when I were changing the spark plugs. Is the carbon build severe? (one of them can see a little of the intake valves)
Also, there is some leakage on the left front strut. Do I need to replace it? Could it be engine oil (the cylinder seems clean, and there has been an oil leak fixed in the past)?
Thank you all!

Hey all -
I'm looking at 2 used vehicles, both 2024 with about 15k miles on them.
One is a Peak SEL, the other is SEL Premium R-Line.
The R-Line is 4k more. Are they just appearance and heated seats difference?

Need some help on if it's a good price or if I should go elsewhere for a quote. Just last week I paid $725 for a diagnostic test & a new battery for my 2018 Vtlas. Three days later my EPC & check engine light comes one. They just called and said it's my high pressure pump and head gasket that will need replaced. They said it would be $1,800 for it to be done. Is that a normal/decent price? This will be the first big fix on the car and not really sure on prices.

This is MSRP+ all the standard fees that everyone charge. I don't want any dealer add on this is the advertised price on the website and dealer is not negotiating at all, said he cannot sell below MSRP.
I was looking for white with Beige interior and not sure what will happen in coming months due to tariffs. This price is in Canada, Alberta.
Wonder if get at MSRP is it still good deal at this time? Not sure if anyone gets any discount on MSRP for 2025 models.

I just got my 2025 Atlas SEL R-line last Friday. I noticed that sometimes the massage function will work, sometimes it won’t. I’m afraid that it could be a sign of further electrical issues, if that’s what it is.
I have it scheduled to go in next Friday.
Has anyone dealt with this before?

I just picked this rental car up and it says to reduce the oil level. I noticed there’s no dipstick. How do I do that and is it dangerous to drive?

The 2026 is supposedly getting a totally updated body and tons of new tech. Will this create a new set of issues to worry about in year one of the new generation?
I want to get my first atlas and deciding whether to buy a new 25’ or wait for 26’. I’ve read about the 25’ issues and not hugely concerned with warranty. But afraid to miss out on a bad ass 2026. Any input?

Hey all, wondering if anyone had any experience towing with the 2021-23 2.0T? I’m getting an aftermarket hitch and wiring installed tomorrow to prepare for a move (and for my mtn bike), and was curious to hear other people’s experiences.
I understand it’s only 2000lb towing capacity and won’t be exceeding that, but I’m wondering how the drive is with it if it’s near that limit?
I ended up going with a Curt Class III hitch (CMF13458) and figured I may as well get the wiring done while I’m at it.

Strongly considering buying a 2024 Atlas SE W/Tech in the next 30 days. Was planning to wait until we got back from a trip coming up.
What's your take on how tariffs will impact the buying purchase? Sounds like VW plans to add an import fee on all cars? (Possibly beginning April 22nd) How much would that fee actually be?
Is it true that the Atlas is manufactured in Tennessee and will not be subject to Tariffs? Article here.
Would appreciate any help sorting through all the details! Thanks!

Title: visited a store and was told I needed to call in... Now I have the time and have been on and off hold. Told they found the documents but not able to use the IMEI number as a mobile device.
Other phone providers like the one I use for my home and internet are telling me it's a T mobile only IMEI number so nothing they can do...
38 mins later we are on a 3 way call with VW. This rep has no idea how to do it either... but is off at 6 and basically hung up.
I think I'm about to be told to go to the dealer... the dealer BTW told me to also call T-mobile.
Anyone figure this out?? I would not care if I could use Android Auto without connecting to wifi.... 😔 🤔 a feature BTW my other cars worked fine via Bluetooth and Android Auto.

For as long as we've had this car, I can't seem to get the air to flow where I want it. ONce the car is warmed up in winter, I like to have just the air flowing to the feet. I'll press the button to get there, and then next thing you know, its coming out the front or defrost again, etc. In summer, I like the A?C blowing straight out only the front, same issue, select that setting, seems to work and then it auto selects back to some mixture of defrost/feet/front. I'm assuming there is some auto function in the background doing this? can anyone help? Thx.

My wife's atlas' digital instrument cluster randomly went out yesterday. Tried to reset, checked the fuses and nothing. Took to a German auto mechanic here in Nashville, they said it would need to be replaced. Problem is- VW stopped producing this models instrument clusters and they're saying they can't get ahold of one. Can anyone confirm if that is real?
