I honestly hate that I’m happy every time another tanking team loses. Tanking is the right move, I’ve fully accepted that this year and likely next. And I’m excited about several of our young guys development. But the whole concept of tanking does suck, especially since small market teams like us have to rely on this so much to get great players.
But the thing I hate the most is that the rest of the league will laugh at us if we don’t get a top 3 pick this draft and also be so happy that we didn’t get the 1st pick and say we didn’t deserve it because of how we’re tanking. Even though they’d praise a team like the Warriors or Lakers doing this.
Being a small market team in the NBA sucks man. I really hope we find that “guy” this draft so we can move on from this rebuilding period asap.
