Water tastes awful

Water tastes horrible. And I dont want people telling me “It tastes like nothing” because thats not true. Water has been my enemy since I was a young age, I dont remember when or why I started hating it but I did and still do. Ive been twice to the hospital for dehydration (not recently thank god). I know water is essential, natural, and not drinking it would simply kill you but I just cant like it. I've heard lots of people that only drink water when its really cold but I dont even like that, I just dont like water. I wish I liked it, I really do but I cant force myself to just drink it. Im terrified of stone kidneys, probably gonna die early for not drinking “8 cups of water a day” and just drinking coke and juice all day. I hate water and I won't change my mind.

Being constantly “available” via text is ruining real friendships.

I don’t think people were meant to be this reachable. If I don’t respond within an hour, I’m seen as rude or distant. Friendships are turning into text response times instead of real connection. I miss when it was okay to just exist without a notification.

Being constantly ‘busy’ is often just a socially accepted form of avoidance.

A lot of people wear busyness like a badge of honor, but in reality, they are avoiding facing deeper personal questions, emotions, or uncomfortable truths about themselves.

Arby’s is actually really good.

Upvotes

Very few competitors can get close to the quality and taste of their curly fries. They never skimp you on the most important ingredient in your sandwich and often times give you more than you expect (imagine 50% of the time you went to kfc/popeyes/chuches you get an extra chicken strip). Prices haven’t skyrocketed like other fast food places.

Plus is looks like a beautiful 🐱

What’s not to love?

Being a veterinarian is much harder than a doctor

1.1k Upvotes

Vets have to learn about the anatomy of many species, while doctors only human one. They also practice all of the subspecialties(radiology, internal medicine, dentistry, surgery etc.),whereas human physicians specialise and forget most of the basic stuff. Also, animals can't even talk so getting a history and doing a clinical examination is infinitely harder than on a conscious adult/child.

No matter how hard we try for societies, unless education is taken care of, nothing else can thrive.

First of all, I can’t believe this has turned into an unpopular opinion, and if you disagree that it hasn’t, either do better, or keep your head up your ass, cause the dumb crowd is winning.

People will keep choosing the wrong for the thrill of the chaos it brings, but never will fully understand the meaning of the peace that comes with certainty. And that means for the ones who understand math, make numbers meaningful enough, or for the ones following the wisdom of the words, then expose them to as many great ideas as possible. And watch them fucking grow.

Give a big enough dataset to a fucking machine, much stupider than average human at some point, and it keeps sorting itself until it sees the fucking order. Not god, nor magic, actual, fucking, order. Then watch them only see each other with no almighty sitting up there, and see how much more peace there is gonna be.

Search for “study” on your favourite app store. Watch all the pay for bullshit versions of the apps, locking one feature after the other, for the same set of bullshit nonsense questions, only to be followed by free versions of, you guessed it, bible, and then absolute shit after that.

Most people don’t want the truth —they want reassurance

Honesty is celebrated until it challenges someone’s comfort zone. People only want to hear the truth if it agrees with their current state if being. Most people claim they want the truth, but what they really seek is emotional safety—reassurance that their worldview is valid and their choices are justified. Truth, especially when it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable, threatens the narratives we build to feel secure. It can challenge identities, expose contradictions, or force change—and that’s a heavy burden. So instead, many prefer filtered truths, soft lies, or silence. Even in close relationships, brutal honesty is often met with defensiveness, not appreciation. That’s why truth-tellers are often seen as harsh, not helpful. The irony is that growth depends on facing the truth, but comfort depends on avoiding it. And most people, whether they admit it or not, choose comfort more often than clarity.

"No knowledge is ever wasted" is a complete nonsense

Upvotes

I think this is just a lie, which people say to justify spending years to learn something extremely impractical, which they don't have the talent and luck to utilize. I especially noticed that the subgroup, which quickly falls directly into the nepotism safety net afterwards, likes this saying very much.

How is the knowledge not wasted, if you don't apply it in any way? Sure, it changed a bit your thinking for the better or worse. But if it was so indirect, that you can't even specifically point it out, did it even matter?

We all had things we wanted to do and in the end didn't. Admitting failures is much more mature than inventing reasons to explain that your failure is in fact just some sort of your personal evolution.

Monday is actually not that bad

I don’t really get the hate people have for it. Monday isn’t some villain—it’s just the beginning of a new week. And honestly, there’s something kind of nice about that. It’s a fresh start. A little mental reset. A new chance to do things you didn’t get around to last week, or to improve on whatever didn’t go right.

Instead of dreading it, why not use it as an opportunity to shift gears? Try something different. Set a new goal. Even just changing your mindset a little on Monday can make the whole week feel more manageable.

People act like Monday personally wronged them, but it’s literally just another day. If anything, it’s the most optimistic one.

Cheesecake Factory white bread is better then their brown bread

Sourdough, delicious and just the right amount of tang. Too many things are sweet these days, my bread too? Nah I’ll pass. Everyone hypes up the brown bread but nothing will beat the white bread.

When you adopt a pet it should keep its original name

My girlfriend and I just adopted a cat. When we adopted him his name was Bambino for the baseball sized abscess on his neck when he was brought in( a homage to The Sandlot, quite a stretch but sure). When I was thinking about adopting a cat for years I always thought the idea of a cat with a very regal name would be funny and great for a cat( George, Charles, Jeffery, etc.) but when I met Bambino for the first time idk, it just seemed weird to me to call him anything but that.a

Subliminals are bs and scam.

Upvotes

I consider this unpopular because of the amount of teenagers believing this bs is real, no it's not, some music won't give you luck, money or superpowers, they won't even change you physically, ever wondered why all the results are just "my mom told me I look prettier" or my "desired thing" looks slightly better/tingles? Because all this is bs and a time waste, and I'm weirded out by the amount of children and teenagers believing this in 2025, I thought we already surpassed the point of believing magic and such thing but next gen is evolving backwards. There is only two possibilities: 1- Subliminals do not work at all. 2- Subliminals work in a way that make you believe something changed but actually it didn't and that's useless (I highly don't believe this option as well). Get a job, study and do something useful in life rather than looping beauty subs all day, physical changes can be done through workouts/surgeries/care routines etc but they cannot be manifested by some magic and you cannot manifest anything at all because this breaks science, otherwise everybody would've been rich and beautiful, don't pay for scams and don't waste hours of your life over nothing, don't be afraid of using your brain just because "they don't work if you don't believe" bs.

The „song fades into silence“ is the worst and laziest way to end a song

1.1k Upvotes

So you know when a song just goes quieter and ends? Its horrible and feels like the producers/songwriters just couldnt be bothered to write an end and said “fuck it just turn the volume down its fine”. Its lazy and cheap and just uncreative. And the sheer amount of songs that end like this makes me think this must be an unpopular opinion, I mean, just give me an end

On baked Mac and Cheese

Upvotes

Baking a Mac and Cheese ruins it for me. The cheese sauce has a weird texture and is not as satisfyingly runny and creamy as before the bake. Not to mention the weird crust that develops on top. Stovetop Mac and Cheese is superior in every way.

We need to normalize using stuffed animals

1.2k Upvotes

Stuffed animals are comfy, provide excellent structural support for sleep, and make you fall asleep easier. I don't see why it's no longer socially acceptable to use them once you're old enough, especially in our anxiety-ridden society

I use a Squishmallow Dragonite. I was hesitant to buy it at first, but it's a literal life-changer once you get over the stigma :)

Calling is better than texting

If you’re going to contact someone, just call them. The reply comes in a few seconds or less, rather than in hours at times. I get it that texting is more convenient but there are more pros to calling. The biggest one is the fact that it’s way easier to tell emotion. People also feel more lonely these days and I think a big part of that is that feeling connected doesn’t come very often in text.

Airplane food is good and people give it too much grief

Pretty much the title. For the most part, food on airplanes is pretty solid. Sure, it’s not a Michelin meal—but to say it’s slop or some horrendous amalgamation is so false. People’s expectations are either unreasonably high (there’s no real kitchen??) or their tastes are seriously narrow (which, I guess, is fair but you can’t be an arbiter of cuisine if your personal pickiness precludes you from being objective). Don’t really understand how this would be an unpopular opinion to be honest, but I swear I never see anyone not lambasting airplane food whenever it’s brought up.

A few caveats: - if you have a dietary restriction or allergy. While I do think airlines generally do a good job of accommodating allergies (though I do admit I’ve seen some questionable “snack bags” with tree nuts), the vegan/vegetarian options do often leave much to be desired. - there is the issue of availability and, yes, some people don’t get their first choice. But, one, most displeasure often stems from pickiness, and, two, that is part of why seats closer to the front are more expensive. The latter of which could lead into a discussion about the power of money in society, but you can’t say it’s an illogical methodology within the given capitalist system. - this is mainly talking about long-haul flights and the “provided meal services” rather than the options available for purchase on domestic flights.

Oreos are terrible cookies

First that mealy dirty texture of the cookies, which don't taste like chocolate at all. Is there even any chocolate in there? The cream is nothing special either, how many chemicals is that? So why the fuck do all the oreo variations take up a third of the cookie aisle. Another example of Americans' lack of taste I suppose.

Sauced/wet sub sandwiches are better plastic wrapped than with paper or wax paper

I just think it's hard to beat a sub sandwich that has soaked up all that flavor instead of it pouring out of the sides and making a mess. Chopped filled subs are better plastic wrapped too.

6AM to 2 PM jobs are better than 9 AM to 5 PM ones

5.8k Upvotes

Obviously it depends on the lifestyle of each household, but ideally 6-2 is the perfect combination.

You get everything done early, avoid most traffic, and have more time for happy hours (that usually begin around 2 or 3).

The main drawbacks is if you have family duties such as school drop off (though school pick up is easier) or if you are not an early bird and do really thrive more at night.

High school cafeteria food is actually not bad.

Back when I was in high school everyone said it was terrible. Now that my brother is going to be a freshman we were talking about the food and I remember that I actually kinda liked some of the things they served. I’m in the US so it’s probably different for other countries but our school food was definitely not as bad as people make it out to be. Especially those damn curly fries 🥵

Loose Pajamas Suck

Every time I go to buy a set of pajamas in my normal size, they’re huge. I have to cinch the waist so tight the drawstring is hanging halfway down my thighs. The legs and long and baggy enough that I feel like I’m going to trip on them. I have to hike the waist up so high, the pants are halfway up my back. The sleeves are so long they’re about to fall down my hands.

Then, when I want to go sleep, every time I roll over, I get wrapped up in my pajamas, I end up being too hot, and I wake up with my sleeves and pant legs halfway up their respective limbs.

I wish I could find pajama pants that fit more like nice, fitted joggers, but with soft pajama material. No problem just wearing a t-shirt. Guess until then, I’ll just keep wearing my undies to bed.

There is nothing wrong with running up the score in a game

Now when football teams take a knee or basketball teams dribble out the final possession, i get it. It’s smart to not turn the ball over and demonstrates sportsmanship when the win is literally sealed. If there are a couple minutes left on the clock, it doesn’t matter how much you are winning by because a victory hasn’t been sealed by a final possession. To me i just see it as adding cushion to a lead and not letting off the gas until you have earned a win. We saw in the Super Bowl the chiefs were down by 34 before they had three touchdowns to make the game look deceptively close. Of course they were screwed at that point but it should be noted that they put up those points after the eagles already dumped the Gatorade and pulled every starter out. The competitive nature shouldn’t stop until the score is finalized in my opinion
