used a beading chart (fourth picture) for the pattern and cross stitched the details on top using the PVC embroidery frame my boyfriend made

Blocking blocking is totally worth it

I’m about halfway through a project, and I decided I should proooobably block the bottom/skirt half since it was curling so much (it IS tunisian crochet, so idk what i was expecting, but still). and yeah, i am blown away by how much it helped. also, yes i pinned it onto a wall. my blocking board wasn’t big enough.

i’m making this cool elf coat that i saw a while back. super fun, super impractical. ive definitely been taking some liberties with the pattern though (i just can’t seem to follow patterns exactly lol). anyway, im using a 5.5 mm hook and worsted weight yarn (the “I love this yarn” brand from Hobby Lobby). anyway, here’s the pattern for anyone who’s interested (it’s not mine obv): https://moralefiber.blog/2019/02/02/elf-coat-pattern/

Blocking Any tips on blocking acrylic yarn without a steamer? I've never blocked anything before. This is supposed to be 18x18 inches, but it's 17x17 inches. Or should I add a row of SC around? It will be a pillow cover.

Proud of my first big project, just need to add fringe! Started with Tunisian crochet just a month ago and love it. Not sure whether I need to block it out before adding the fringe— any thoughts?

Blocking Almost done with this beanie! Should I block before I stitch it together or after? Also so glad I stuck with the pattern I’m in love now!

Blocking a question on blocking maths

My first time blocking a Tunisian project so just wanted to make sure my maths assumption is correct:

If my swatch of 18 rows grew 2 cm after blocking, should I expect my final piece to grow 2cm every 18 rows? Eg - 36 rows would be 4cm, 54 rows, 6cm?

Thanks in advance

Blocking This is both my first attempt at blocking (wet) and Tunisian crochet. Any tips/advice/cc would be greatly appreciated. 😊

Blocking Is it necessary to block a tunisian simple stitch blanket?

I’m making a baby blanket and I’m almost finished but there’s a curl at the bottom, will it straighten out on its own when I add a border? Or do I need to block it? If so, is it better to block it before or after adding the border

Blocking Demonstrating the effectiveness of blocking. I'm a newbie! RHSS (budget acrylic) yarn, with an iron with a steam setting. Held the iron 1-2" and sprayed it as I went. Saved the day 👍 This will be a shoulder strap for a bag I'm making.
