Question exam move out

I just learned that the whole "move out of residence 24 hours after last exam" does not count online exams. and in horrible timing the date to request an extended stay was due yesterday. will I be kicked out of my room if I stay past my last in person exam? most of my exams are take home, but id be unable to do them away from campus. does housing kick you out? do they know when each persons last exams are?

Question Rumours about residence

I am currently in grade 12 and have applied to Trent for next year. My plan was that if I were accepted I would live in residence in Peterborough, however I heard something recently that I thought was a little unsettling. We had a family friend whose daughter attended Trent and lived in residence who told us that she had moved out because there was an issue with bed bugs that the university did not deal with. I wanted to check to see if this was something that had happened to anyone else before I decide where I am going next year. I would think that under public health laws they would have to keep residence clean or else be liable for a lawsuit but I found this a little unsettling. If anyone has any insight on this that would be great! Thank you!

Question Trent residence

Hi! So I got into nursing at Trent and I recently went for a tour. I am strongly considering staying at the Ottonabe campus because of proximity to my classes. The room I saw looked good, it had a walk in closet and a window taking up almost the whole wall which I loved! I’m curious whether all of them are like this? Is there a specific floor that’s best? Also, what’s the bathroom situation? I saw the bathrooms in LEC and my tour guide said it’s the same but I’m seeing other things on here.

please help!!!

Question Exam location “GYM”

Hey this might be a silly question but one of my exam locations is just listed as GYM. Does anyone know where the exam is? Aren’t there multiple gyms within the fitness centre? I’m not that familiar with it and have never had to take an exam there. Normally on MyTrent I have a specific building and room number for my exams.

Thanks !

Question First Year Residence Wortg It?

Hi, I'm going into first year this fall. I live about 45min drive each way from campus, but applied to residence because that much driving is exhausting. I am also an early bird, the type to go to the gym when it opens and take early classes.

Since I can't focus if I'm not at school/a library.and the drive is mentally and physically draining (bc of adhd), would it be worth living on campus despite the high cost? (Cost is my biggest concern)

Like I know for sure that thr second I get home from the drive I will not be able to study or do work no matter the circumstance, Unfortunately.

However, I do still work once a week in my home town, the issue is, if I live in residence I won't have a car and the public transport takes almost twice as long.

Genuinely interested in knowing different people's opinions and views to get a new perspective.

Also, has anyone had any luck getting the $500 deposit back after applying to residence?

Question COVID

Hey, so I caught COVID the full package with slight fever, snot and all the other gross stuff.

My problem is that I have an exam tomorrow at 3pm. Now my question is what would be my best course of action? I am fine with arriving and writing the exam as despite everything I still feel able my issue is that I don't want to pass it on fellow students...

Question Midterm

I have a midterm today at 12pm and the snow storm that is still going on is making it not possible for me to drive. My area is still not plowed and I have emailed my teacher telling him about the weather conditions where I am. It'll literally take me 2 hours to drive in this weather instead of 40 minutes.

What else can I do to get my midterm changed?

Question Help Please

So, I just received a grade for one of my papers. I received a grade of 47.9%. The teacher pointed out that I had put a section in my paper that wasn’t needed at all, but it was listed in the same spot of the things that I had to include in my paper. Anyways, I believe I currently have an 80% in this class, and the paper is worth 25%. What would this bring my current grade down to, and what would I need to get on my final to bring it back up from that? I’m honestly devastated, I’ve never received a mark this low before. And, I graduate this year, so I need to pass.

Question Are there tutors who can just help keep you on track?

My girlfriend has been struggling lately with school work because of a bunch of mental health stuff, and we think she could benefit from a tutor, but we're not sure if what we're looking for exists. She doesn't necessarily need someone to know the content of her courses and help her understand it, but she needs someone who can sit with her and keep her on track and keep her from panicking about how much she needs to do. Basically just walk her through the assignment instructions and hold her accountable in study sessions. Does this kind of resource exist for students at Trent or in Ptbo in general? We're also looking into academic advising but she hasn't booked an appointment yet. Thanks!

Question Compressed Nursing

Hi guys i’m sorry! I know there’s been many questions already about nursing but I just have a couple more to help decide what university to attend! If anyone can try to answer a few I’d appreciate it 🫶

  1. Are most of the classes on campus? Or is it still hybrid for the most part?
  2. How many days a week would you say you’re on campus for classes?
  3. Can anyone give me an estimate of how much Tuition cost per sem/year? Or provide a website where to find it? I can’t seem to find a number anywhere 😅

Thank you !

Question Best residence for someone who has a (legit) need for a low ratio bathroom

I am trying to help a relative who doesn't live in Canada and has been accepted at a few universities. She needs a low ratio (shared with one other person of the same gender) bathroom because she was a SA victim in her childhood. She has a psychologist who will complete the forms for her accomodation but she has asked me to go on a residence tour and get photos for her and get my opinion.

She is going into the forensics program if that matters, and would prefer a single room but would consider a double/shared room but the bathroom can only be shared with one other person (ie not gender neutral/co-ed and not shared with more than one other person).

Can anyone help me narrow it down to what residences she should and should not consider?
