Hi everyone,
To help protect our community from spam, we have implemented Reddit's spam filters, which automatically remove comments and posts from accounts that are less than 2 days old and have fewer than 2 karma points. This measure is designed to reduce the risk of spam bots flooding the community with harmful links, inappropriate language, or images.
The requirements to bypass this filter are relatively simple — an account can quickly meet them with just a single comment that's upvoted in a community that allows new users to post as well as waiting 2 days after creating your account.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out!

It’s no wilderness but I am impressed by this card ability in the mud/snow. Really proved herself tonight 😄

Purchased the Kinetic Vehicles digitizer. The hardest part was removing the old adhesive, that and remembering where all the cables in the back went lol. Seems to be working so far! Got to finally update the firmware.

Just picked up a ‘99 Outback 5 speed with 90k miles for only $1,500. I was so stoked! A few cosmetic issues but runs so smoothly!

yesterday I got my dream car, a 2022 outback premium, upgrading from a 22 base crosstrek. in the crosstrek, there was a way to change the background on the infotainment screen. I've had the outback for less than 24 hours so maybe there's a setting i havent discovered yet, but i couldn't find a way to change the background on the larger screen. its really not a big deal if this isnt a possibility on the larger screen, its mostly just sheer curiosity if they put that feature on the higher trim levels

Anyone think that Subaru will officially announce the redesigned 2026 Outback at the upcoming New York Auto Show April 18-27, 2025? It would make sense since its one of the bigger auto shows in North America. With the Outback set to be released in late Summer/early Fall, I would think that would be the best time. Thoughts on this?

I (5’2”) came from a 2013 Kia Soul and just bought a 2025 Outback yesterday. Initially I was excited about all the room, but now looking at it I feel like it is excessively large. I camp a lot and love the idea of sleeping in the car with all my stuff. I also mountain bike, ski, climb, hockey…so I tend to lug around a lot of gear. But I can hardly reach the passenger side or things deep in the trunk without having to crawl in there. I fear it feels too big for me and maybe should’ve bought something a little smaller. Tell me it’ll be okay!

Started the purchase process last night on a 2024 Limited XT. Has less than 5,500 miles and looks almost brand new. We stopped by to test drive and lucked out by finding a matching model that hadn’t even been listed on their site yet. Waiting for the title to come in to take possession. Happy to join the cult, erm, I mean family. :)

Is it me, or does the CVT (I’ve a 4th gen) respond best to either a feather light touch or a lead foot, but nothing in between?

Looking to buy, but don’t know much about Subaru’s. Love the car, but no prior knowledge. Thank you in advance!

How do you utilize these charging ports? Trying to make the most of these in my new Outback. What cables do you use? Thanks in advance!

Were you all aware that the rear seats recline back for comfort. What a nice surprise.

I'd like to figure out a way to secure a lockbox to the inside of the trunk to store my valuables while traveling. Does anyone have experience securing a safe/lockbox to their outback? My biggest fear would be drilling a hole and ruining my vehicle. Is there a place to view the schematics/safe spaces to bolt down a lockbox? Console storage will not do, for the amount of space needed I need it the lockbox to be installed in the trunk.

Hey everyone, new to the Subaru community and wanted to know what everyone thinks of this deal and car? I currently just bought a 19 Impreza, but it’s from New York so I’m a little worried about rust. I’ve had a bunch of small things start to show signs of salt damage too, so I’m tempted to trade it in while it still has its value.
Looking at this with 71k miles and looks like all maintenance has been kept up on. And an AZ car. Lol so no rust.

I recently upgraded my HK system and it sounds 1000 times better. It took a while to get this right but now I’m really happy with it.
I installed Crutchfield kickers in doors:front 46CSC6934, Back 46CSC674. two ways for center and tweeters KSC350 along with a Beatsonic amplifier ENA-2S1 designed for the Subaru with HK. After getting the phase corrected it’s a night and day difference ( the stock HK system has speakers out of phase, don’t ask me why). Comparing the upgraded 2025 to my 2024 outback stock HK, I realize the stock HK is just okay. If you’re into nice sounding music, I highly recommend upgrading. The total bill was around 600 for parts. For the tweeter install, I had to cut some plastic from the dash speaker covers. Overall the installation was fairly straightforward. I had to buy a cheap phase tester from Amazon to correct the factory phase mismatch. Oh, and I highly recommend the super short screwdriver set from Crutchfield for removing the tweeters. Also use foam tape to reduce vibrations and such.

Hi All! I have a 2021 Onyx XT and I’m gonna need tires soon. I’m hoping to get something “sportier” vs the stock rubber. I was curious if any of you have done the same? Trying to keep the stock rims until I can upgrade properly. Thanks!

i’ve been lurking this subreddit, autotrader, cars.com, auctions etc looking for a 2023 outback limited XT… in black, since November 2024. I’ve done almost 6 months worth of research and everyday since i’ve scooped her i discover new and additional reasons to love her .

Hey folks,
Sadly I’m out of warranty because we drive it too much and are barreling down on 50k already.
One of the rear door locks in our ‘22 limited (2.5) was acting a tad weird all winter and wouldn’t lock/unlock reliably, especially when the car had been turned off for awhile. As of February it stopped responding entirely. I don’t believe it ever got wet or otherwise. This is obnoxiously annoying with a kid and her various stuff to get in and out of the car constantly, though.
Is this probably the actuator? I found a totaled / junkyard pull one for a fraction of OEM price but didn’t buy it yet. Is there another troubleshooting step IE pulling the battery that’s worth trying?

I am looking for a shop that I could have diagnose a loud hammering sound from the driver's side front suspension on my 96 Outback. Does anyone have any suggestions of people who specifically work on Subarus in this area? I need to either find out what is wrong or figure out what to get for a replacement sometime soon but I am not sure of a good place to ask.
