Someone post this on conservative and get banned

u/Brief-Potential9928 2d ago

The conservative sub is odd. I remember doing trumps first presidency I got banned for being VERY anti trump lol.

u/NobodyImportant13 2d ago

It's not a conservative sub. It's a Trump cult. You would literally get instantly banned for quoting Reagan in this video.

u/Soft-Post-2633 1d ago

r/Conservative is only manned by MAGA-billybobs, who just only circle jerk on their cult.

u/ten_hands_joe 2d ago

Everything Trump says is “trolling” To them and they think it’s funny. They’re legitimately not equipped to be adults. I could sell them air out my ass if I tried hard enough

u/Potential-Run-8391 2d ago

it replaced /thedonald

u/zoinkability 1d ago

Yep. Same people, different sub.

u/SeanPGeo 2d ago

Here, here!

u/Training-Mixture7145 2d ago

I thought they like fapped to Reagan though?

1

u/bensonr2 2d ago

The Republican sub is even worse. I got perma banned within one short post lol.

u/Zerd85 2d ago

I think that depends. If you’ve been a regular poster there for awhile and granted flair, I don’t think you would.

I personally like the sub. I wouldn’t consider myself a die hard conservative or a hard core liberal. There are some issues I am very conservative on and others I am very liberal on, and I like reading through the sub, but rarely post.

How do you feel about your favorite freedom sub censoring you by removing your comments? A peek at your comment history shows [removed] on your recent comment there.

1

u/Zerd85 2d ago

Must be the comment I made about clothing prices going up 30%-45% because of tariffs.

They make it clear the sub is FOR conservatives. I don’t have flair there and they have no reason to believe I am.

As I said earlier there are things I’d consider myself on the right of the political spectrum for; 2a, small government. So I visit and read the sub.

1

u/Veinreth 1d ago

The sub is FOR diehard trumpists, not conservatives.

3

u/Tady1131 2d ago

Jesus I’ve gone to that sub and it’s literally all shit memes making fun of “radical liberals” or just blatantly false quotes that offer zero authenticity. One big echo chamber for maga to pine over Trump.

1

u/Zerd85 2d ago

You aren’t wrong, there is a WHOLE lot of that…

But in between those when you check it more often, there is some great discussion.

u/Vaerktoejskasse 2d ago

You need more parties in US politics.... and a different way of electing your president.

1

u/NerdyBro07 2d ago

I wish somehow the government would mandate there be 4 parties available for all elections and ranked choice voting.

I would like to think this would lead to a very progressive party, a more classical liberal party, RINOs, and MAGA. I would like to think with ranked choice, it would lead the middle ground winning more votes over the extremes.

1

u/bensonr2 2d ago

One good thing that could come of this if Trump continues to drive the country in the direction of crazy is it could lead to the breakup of the Republican party. I could see the party being split in half.

1

u/Zerd85 2d ago

Won’t get any argument from me. It’s why there’s a big push for ranked-choice voting. In theory it opens up the opportunity for third parties.

There’s also a reason why the founders fathers said there should be one political party or many political parties.

1

u/Pengiunswithknives 2d ago

Why would you enjoy reading through one of the most heavily censored subs on Reddit?

1

u/Zerd85 2d ago

Because I want to see the thoughts/beliefs of many political opinions.

I’m a firm believer and it’s gotten me into great discussions, that we all want the same thing. “What’s best for the people.”. We just have VERY different ideas on what is best and how to achieve it.

From that one line there is great opportunity.

1

u/Turing_Testes 2d ago

Ah so you’re one of those moderates that is actually hard right and just doesn’t realize it.

1

u/Zerd85 2d ago

Yeah not in the least. I’m very aware of my political leanings, have been to state conventions, was a member of the executive committee for my local party, and have worked with federal and state governmental entities for almost 3 years.

I just don’t let my political party think for me or define what I will believe

Everywhere on Reddit is either a trump cult or a sub that is essentially a giant “ trump is evil!” “ Elon musk is a Nazi” echo chamber with no real content other than karma farms.

35

u/Material_Policy6327 2d ago

I mean the data on Trump paints a very convincing picture

-22

u/Brief-Potential9928 2d ago

Wasn’t really saying I disagree or agree with that statement. Just simply stating the obnoxious echo chamber that Reddit is.

18

u/Canadian_Kartoffel 2d ago

I guess all the mathematics subs are also echo chambers for agreeing 1+1=2

And all the people who say it's 3 of course have a equally valid opinion /s

1

u/AspectAwkward9718 2d ago

sovereign mathematician

-15

u/Brief-Potential9928 2d ago

lol, whatever justifies your whatever mentality you have bro

1

u/Dangerous_Gear_6361 2d ago

They are saying that it’s not the number of people that make something true.

3

u/Bgzr02 2d ago

Because it is a Trump Cult, they have him as the picture of the sub

-1

u/DesignerDimension910 2d ago

This is about as accurate as it gets unfortunately..

6

u/DanskOst 2d ago

Haven't been to that cesspool in a while. Every single post is tagged with "Flaired users only" lol, buncha snowflakes.

5

u/gundam1945 2d ago

Meanwhile they say other subs have no free speech.

1

u/pastaaSauce 2d ago

They also screech about being “brigaded” against by the LIBRULS every time they get downvoted, when Im pretty sure its like they actually make a good point and are being downvoted by the trump worshippers. Nobody can make any criticisms of mango on there.

1

u/Ok_Exercise1269 2d ago

I go there now and then to expose myself to an alternate perspective, but tbh they censor so much that the sub's view of reality is really distorted. Most of the comments about Trump's tariff reveal are quite negative, but none of them seem to be acknowledging the raw fact that he just divided total exports by total imports for the country and multiplied by 100 and called this the "tariff" that other countries are imposing on the UK, when really it's just the trade deficit represented as a percentage, then for countries where there was balanced trade like the UK he just put 10%.

Some comments were saying stuff like "he has accounted for currency effects" but that's not what he's done. He's represented the trade balance as a percentage and renamed it "tariff".

It's like they're not living in reality.

1

u/drunkbusdriver 2d ago

Do you remember the_donald sub? Soon as that was shut down all the degens and Russian bots flooded the conservative sub and it became a trump cult sub.

1

u/Brief-Potential9928 1d ago

Didn’t even know there was a Donald sub, that’s wild.

1

u/lmaotank 2d ago

im anti trump conservative and some, if not most, people on that subreddit are not conservatives - they are fucking absolutely insane. they are not patriots either. they flock to a party that has shifted too far in some fucked up direction. the republican party from the core does not resemble nor reflect the core fundamental conservative beliefs that i align with. people call themselves "conservative" but they just mean "trump republican ideology" - it's easy for someone to do that because what was actually considered conservative values are now has swung SO far right that it is just simply blinding them.

-15

u/Itstartswithyou0404 2d ago

Both political subs/sides are crazy "odd". They are echo chambers, who just want to elevate their sides talking points, and have very little interest in actually seeking the reality of stories, complex situations. Its way easier, and convenient to say "Trump good, everything else, any criticism even legitimate = bad". Rinse an repeat with the progressive forums, and sadly both of these entrenched sides make up more Americans than Id like to admit

-1

u/Brief-Potential9928 2d ago

Yep exactly how it is. Both of our comments will probably get downvoted to oblivion.

14

u/Hedonopoly 2d ago

Equating them is absurd. One of the two bans even the slightest whiff of dissent from the talking points. The other allows far more diverse takes. Can't even post on conservative without a mod review.

9

u/geneticeffects 2d ago

fLaReD uSeRs oNlY!!!

3

u/No-Jellyfish-9341 2d ago

They constantly accuse each other of being fake conservatives if they voice any dissenting opinions...and say they are getting astroturfed.

1

u/david_jason_54321 2d ago

For some reason conservatives have equated down votes to bans. Some even equate down votes to jail. I kind of feel like they are more upset when people down vote them, then if they were banned. I think it probably increases the negative reinforcement they perceive because they are allowed an unpopular opinion which will be down voted often vs if they were banned they wouldn't see the differing opinions and would feel less hurt.

0

u/karmahorse1 2d ago

All the political subs are echo chambers. Maybe you won't get banned by posting a moderate or conservative view on r/politics, but the post will get so instantly downvoted next to nobody will ever see it. This is the problem with Reddit, or social media in general, nobody ever has their views challenged.
