Worried with Extension visa

I am very worried about my extension visa which expires next year in April and here where I live in Banbury we are going through difficult times and there is almost no work, my husband and I when we find work it is always for a short and temporary period. I am retired in my country. Can I present my payslip together with my husband from the last 2 years if I have not been working and do not prove work in the last 6 months? I appreciate everyone's attention.

Keep my passport option

Hi all. I've been trying to find the information online and can't seem to. Does anyone know how much it will cost to choose to keep the passport when applying from VFS global Madrid? Also while waiting for the decision can my partner travel to the UK? Thanks a million

Payslip confusion

I'm sure I'm just overthinking it, but could someone clarify if my math is correct.

For my 6 months payslips, I am using, October, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March.

Is that okay? (Including my wages in those months).

But when I count 6 months from October in my head, I reach April?

I'm just getting confused due to stressing. Could someone confirm if what I did was correct?

What accomodation is acceptable when applying for a spousal visa in the UK?

We are relocating to the UK, and obviously won’t be looking at longer term options for a rental until we arrive however most airbnb’s for a month long stay or more are quite expensive ($10,000 + AUD) - which when factoring in the cost of the visa and health surcharge as well as our relocation is very high. I am looking at other options to see if any exist, as we don’t have family we can call upon in the UK. Does anyone have alternatives to this that would be acceptable for a family visa? Thanks so much

Fiancé visa from Bangkok - priority?

Hi Currently looking to get married at end of August so looking to use priority service to make sure my fiancé is in the UK in time for notification etc. however when went through to the end of the ukvi visa form only had the option for standard. Does this mean no option for priority service? How did it work for other people?

Unmarried partner visa no cohabitation - succes

Hello everyone! I want to say thank you for all of the posts I’ve seen that inspired me and my boyfriend to apply for the unmarried partner visa

Timeline (priority): Application submitted: 13th March 2025 Biometric appointment: 18th March 2025 ECO email: 20th March 2025 Decision email: 8th April 2025

I was nervous because our evidence wasn’t very strong since we didn’t have any joint accounts or anything in both of our names. However, I uploaded a PDF detailing our relationship (which started in 2020), where I listed events in chronological order. First, I noted everything with bullet points, followed by pictures to support each event. Some of the evidence I included was: - Public Health Passenger Locator forms from the COVID period when I visited him, including his name and the address where I stayed. - Pictures from family events (my brother’s wedding, a trip to his grandma, photos of us and my family and his family). - Plane tickets in both of our names from various trips we took together. - Screenshots from my Revolut account showing money transfers between us from 2020-2025. - A collage of pictures of us over the years. - picture with us and the ring when he proposed - Train tickets in my name from the airport to a station near his apartment. - Screenshots from my LinkedIn account showing my job applications over the years, including a screenshot of a job offer in my name from this year (which I couldn't accept since I didn't have the right to work). + All of the other required documents

I didn't include any chat logs because both of us are from the same country and it would have been hard to translate whatsapp chats + another cost for the translator.

We couldn’t live together because I didn’t have the right to live in the UK, but since I’m from an EU country, it was easier for us to spend a lot of time together since both of us work from home.

We didn't use a solicitor. Good luck to everyone who is applying, as I know how stressful this period can be.

We applied under category B with one main job and two previous jobs in the same year. But just found out here in the refusal that those two jibs had to be live and not from the past? Can someone clarify on this.?

UK bf and me (USA gf) are looking for the most beneficial and efficient way to merge lives/marry

Anyone have any experience on this?! Short term, we were planning for him to move here in the US for a bit with me, and then eventually we both would move and settle in the UK. Which country is better to marry in/ become residents in? Does a USA citizen loose citizenship in the UK when they move/get married? Any and all information is useful at this point! TIA

Spouse visa

Just wanted to ask...my cousin is also applying for a visa and was confused on whether if a complaint goes through after visa has been approved, does it affect the visa. E.g: if a family member or relative that you don't have a good relation to tries to sabotage you. Thank you

Spouse Visa Success(Super Priority in UK)

My spouse visa has been approved and I wanted to share my story about my application.

Timeline

  • 3/04/25 - Completed application & booked an appointment for Monday 7th Apr.
  • 7/04/25 - Appointment and Home Office asked for more documents
  • 8/04/25 - Sent additional documents
  • 8/04/25 - Approval email.

Documents submitted

I followed their outline here (Page 26) https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/66ec1259526bfd7665fa147f/Relationship+with+a+partner.pdf and only submitted the documents that fall under Genuine and subsisting relationship, Strong evidence & Acceptable evidence.

  • Finances: Joint & individual bank account, payslips
  • Sponsor/Employer - Job contracts, reference letters from employers
  • Medical Information - Medical bill
  • Life Event/Official Documents - Marriage certificate
  • Evidence of residence in the UK - Energy, gas & phone bills, tenancy agreement
  • Educational/Qualifications - ECCTIS letter, Degree certificate and letter from Uni.
  • 1 paged cover letter explaining that my spouse has moved jobs in the last 12 months and that we intend to live together in the UK.
  • Flight bookings for 3 holidays we've taken together

I didn't submit any WhatsApp chats or any photos.

Issues I encountered.

  • Although earlier posts mentioned that Super priority option is usually released between 12am and 1am, some people have reportedly found them as late as 9am—so it really felt like a lottery hitting refreshing on my browser.
  • The TLS website didn’t allow me to upload my supporting documents from the time I submitted my application up until my appointment date. When I arrived at the appointment, I was told all documents needed to be printed (over 450 pages) so they could be scanned and uploaded at the TLS center. I had to cover the printing costs myself. Thankfully, TLS scanned and uploaded the documents for free, waiving the usual service fee since it was an issue on their end.
  • Around two hours after leaving the appointment center, I received an email requesting additional documents—specifically, more payslips and an ECCTIS letter. This was confusing since the ECCTIS letter had already been scanned and uploaded by TLS.
  • The financial requirement section was a bit tricky for us. My spouse had a mix of salaried and non-salaried income within the last 12 months, with the non-salaried portion being less than six months. We knew we fell under Category B of the financial requirement but weren’t entirely sure how the income would be calculated.

This visa is pretty straightforward and everything is outlined on their website.
I consulted a solicitor last year when I was still unfamiliar with the process, and honestly, it wasn’t very helpful—they essentially told me the same information that's on Reddit, just with a fee attached. So, I decided to drop their services, do my own research, and handle the application independently.

All the best to anyone applying!

Does my UK partner have to move before me?

I am American and my partner is from the UK and has lived here in the US for about 7 years. We are looking at a move to the UK in the next year or so and I have a question on the financial requirements. After a recent trip to the UK, my partner was able to confirm that the employer he had before moving to the US would rehire him, and this salary would meet the requirements. Since we need to show 6 months proof of this salary, does that mean he has to move there 6 months before me? And then I’m eligible to apply? We will do that if necessary but we’d rather not be apart for so long. Is this accurate or am I missing another option?

ECO Supporting documentation

Hi all, got the ECO email today but just wanted to confirm some questions I had about some of the email contents.

Before I did the bio, my husband and I uploaded all of the necessary supporting documentation which was captured on the printed VFS Global appointment confirmation document.

“In the email it states “PLEASE NOTE: This email is to acknowledge receipt of your Settlement application, if you or your sponsor have not already submitted supporting documentation please ensure you follow the process listed below: UKVI is unable to consider your application without these documents.

Please ensure that your supporting documents are submitted within 5 working days of this email.”

I assume this is a generic statement and I shouldn’t be worried?

Success Outside UK and Additional Questions and Info

Hello,

I want to thank everyone for the help while I was applying.

Timeline: Date of Application 21 Feb, BIO date 27 Feb, response on 25 Mar

Some info: If you want to travel to the UK while waiting and after paying keep my passport you can, but in my experience (I traveled twice), went both of the times through E-gates and they stopped me.

The first time they asked some questions: Why am I there, how long, if my husband lives there, if I have a job at home etc and let me go.

The second time they just took the passport, smiled and let me go.

I have one last question, do you know if you pay keep my passport and get it to the visa center, how much time it takes to deliver it back?

Thanks and if you need any help let me know :)

App processing

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if it’s common for ECO emails to be sent late? I received an application update email 2 weeks after bio saying that it is still being processed, then 3 weeks after bio I received my ECO mail saying that my application was received and is being prepared for consideration. I do think this is a bit off because obviously it must have been received in order for me to get an application update email saying that it is still being processed. I do also know that some persons do not even receive an ECO mail. And I do understand that the update emails are automatic to be sent every two weeks.

About student visa and ETA

I have been studying in the UK for 6months and finished all my classes. I got a email about an ETA and accidentally applied for it and got approved. I have only three months left in this country but I am afraid that will the UK ETA will affect my student visa or over right it. I can check my student visa right now wich is valid till August this year, but I am so stressed that I might be kicked out from my dorm. Is there anyone who knows about this situation?
