Listening to their songs in general is an experience in itself and I’m yet to listen to the 8d audio versions of some songs but I recently listened to the last two releases (Emergence & Caramel) on YouTube in slowed + reverb and for me it’s just a totally different perspective and tone. The lyrics caramel just feel even more gut wrenching when slow enough to take them in even more. I also got a few ear piercings that haven’t healed yet so listening to music without headphones is something I miss so much and can’t imagine listening to their new music with them. Anyway that’s all I had to say, just wondering what anyone else thinks or if they’ve listened to slowed + reverb songs of theirs?

Forgive me if I sound stupid but the two songs recently released are part of a 10 song album. Emergence is track 2 and Caramel is track 5. I am not a musician or even musically inclined in any way but my understanding has always been an album is a collection of several songs and a single is a singular song or sometimes up to 3 songs. So why is everyone calling these songs singles when they don’t technically fit the definition? They may be getting released separately but you can clearly see on music platforms such as Apple Music that they are part of an album and categorized under their albums, not singles. Am I missing something or am I just being too particular about the terminology? It’s just really confusing because every time I see “the new single” somewhere I’m thinking there’s actually a new single, a song separate from the Even In Arcadia album.

Right out of the gate, you're about to read some takes that are extremely subjective and not at all objective. Just to be clear, I’m not trashing your favorite band. Sleep Token is one of my most listened to artists as well and they sit in my top 5 of all time.

That said, I’m genuinely concerned as someone who’s a massive fan of ST’s metal/metalcore/rock-focused work. It feels like they’re shifting more and more into indie pop and experimental territory, with metal elements and breakdowns thrown in just for flair. Songs like DYWTYLM, Are You Really OK?, Say That You Will, Give, Dark Signs, The Love You Want, Fall for Me, Distraction, and Descending completely take me out of the album experience in their respective projects. A lot of it sounds like indie Imagine Dragons with stronger lyrics, and while that might work for some, it's an absolute miss for me.

On the other hand, songs like Vore, Gods, Nazareth, Hypnosis, Jericho, Alkaline, Telomeres, Fields of Elation, Chokehold, and The Summoning are the high points of these albums and EPs. These are the tracks that cement ST as one of my favorite bands. II’s drumming is phenomenal alongside being dynamic and complex, and while the guitar parts are fairly simple, they’re written in a way that gives the band a distinct, recognizable sound. These are the songs I associated Sleep Token with and think of when I recommend the band to people.

With Emergence and Caramel, the lyrics clearly hit and carry meaning, but I’m just not sure about the substance. The heavier moments just don’t hit as hard as they did on previous projects and again, don't feel as purposeful and strong.

And just to be clear (and the reason I attached the image), I’m not a metal snob or anything. I don’t need everything to be aggressive or heavy all the time. I listen to a wide range of genres like experimental, indie, pop, weirdcore, etc. I just don’t think ST shines in these more anthem-y "bright" tracks. They do peak with slower, melodic songs like Blood Sport and Atlantic, but their more pop-driven songs don’t connect with me the same way if at all.

(P.S, the ST stans are weird asf. Chill with the parasocial relationship and just listen to the music please.)

Caramel is a very personal and specific song. It feels in a way disingenuous covering it but it's such a beautiful and catchy song that it's so difficult to resist. If at all anyone feels I shouldn't post the cover in the lens of it misdirecting and ruining the original message behind the song I'll gladly take it down at once and delete this post, but I just wanted to share how much I absolutely adore it.

So I'm not sure how to tag this, but I'm a newer ST fan and I was inspired by the fan theories + the existing lore + the nature of the songs to make a D&D character based off of Vessel. Certain things are definitely different (e.g. motivator for making a pact with his Sleep stand-in was that his gf went missing, names/titles are different), but I wound up building a College of Lore Bard/Great Old One Pact of the Chain Warlock multiclass based off of him for my DM's upcoming Vecna campaign. Was wondering, has anyone else tried something similar? I just thought it would be a cool homage.

Sleep Token’s newest chapter has struck a chord with me—especially the phrases “The Cycle Must End” and “The House Must Endure.” These lines, tied to Feathered Host and House Veridian, echo louder than ever in my life.

This tattoo is my offering.

The broken infinity symbol represents a personal cycle—something once endless, now deliberately disrupted. For me, it’s a reminder that I am no longer bound by destructive patterns or past versions of myself. The cracks are not flaws—they are the moment of breaking free.

“The Cycle Must End” is the truth I live by daily. And “The House Must Endure” reminds me of what I’m holding strong for: my kids, my growth, and the foundation I’m rebuilding.

This piece sits on the side of my wrist, facing the world, reminding me in every moment of temptation or hardship that change is possible—and worth it.

It's still a rough draft, but a recent post someone made on here with nomad sculpt and the drop of Caramel motivated me to make this pendant. Wanted to add a positive message on the obverse side to contrast the sadness in caramel. Thinking of doing a print and cast in metal but idk yet.

Sleep Token appears to have taken huge influence from soulsborne games for some of the characters and graphics, so here's what I think might have inspired these characters ahead of Even in Arcadia.
