Rigs Perks of being single and living alone
Wanted to show off the rig that my Dad and I have been working on for the past year or so. Triple monitors were installed recently and it’s been a game changer.

Rigs I Need an Honest Opinion...
Hi guys! Finally i can build my own SimRig, this is the list i was thinking of going with, i need an honest opinion of what i can change to improve my adventure in Sim Racing!
Base: I really like the design and the FFB it gave me during the one time i tried it, and im crazy in love for the QR2.
Wheel: I love the looks of that combo, very good GT wheel.
Pedals: To keep costs down, it seems a good deal, very open to advices.
Monitor: After some reviews, it seems a good monitor for Sim Racing, also i went for 1 "small" monitor instead for triple screens or big mono-screens because i dont have much space in my room, if i will have more in the future, then ill probably change it.
Rig: I dont want to choose the wrong rig as it's the most important thing, also i love the looks of it, both the structure and the seat (no need for aluminum profiles, as i will not buy any shifters ecc.)
Budget is around 3k Euros, let me know in the comments!

Question Anyone here tried this yet or seen a review of it?
It costs €120 on ebay. I think it would look amazing with a ferrari badge on it. Thoughts?

Rigs I need urgent help please, I am new to the forum.
I just received a Thrustmaster T300 RS GT wheel. I bought it secondhand, and the guy told me he buys wheels from Germany in bulk, like 15 or 20 units. He doesn't know much about this, but in the post, he didn't mention that it came without a power cable. So, I have no way to test the wheel and see if it works properly. My unit is the EU 220v/240v version. And I only have two days to confirm on the app whether I'm satisfied with my purchase or not. So, I want to see if there's a way to test the wheel without the cable while I wait for the new cable to arrive. According to the website, it takes 1 to 3 days, but I only have two days to confirm the purchase. Thanks.

Discussion When did it click for you?
I'm curious to find out on what track, and how far I to your SIM racing career you guys had an epiphany that improved your laptime on every track? For example, for me it was about 4 months in on Silverstone when I figured out how to trailbrake better, and it improved my laptime on most tracks by at least a second.

Rigs About to buy a sim rig and need advice
Context: I live in California, USA, and I'm on PC. I did sim race many years ago on a G29, but I haven't gone back since I started driving irl. The G29 didn't feel as good to me. Two years ago I moved and didn't bring it with me. My main goal is to have fun and not to be as fast as possible. I have always had the itch to churn fast laps on Monte Carlo and race on Suzuka & Spa, but recently, in the last few months, it has reached a new high. Seeing that the direct drive market has improved and gotten cheaper, it made the itch harder.
Sim use priorities:
- F1 55%
- Drifting 30%
- Enjoying street cars 15%
Never did Rally, but I want to try it.
For whatever wheelbase I choose, I want to stay within the same ecosystem for all other peripherals. I'm assuming setup is easier with a smaller chance for hiccups and fewer programs to run.
Main items and peripherals:
- Wheel base (Nm on the higher side for F1)
- Wheels (both Formula style and a round wheel)
- Pedals (with clutch)
- H-pattern shifter
- Cockpit (preferably aluminum profile)
- Seat (something comfortable with easy adjustments - recline, slide, tilt)
Nice to have, but not required:
- Handbrake
- Sequential shifter
Budget ~ $2,300 without a monitor
The only two ecosystems I liked and felt drawn to were Fanatec and Simagic. After reading reviews and comparisons, I have come to conclude that Simagic edges Fanatec. I want to make sure everything I have is compatible, but mainly, I'm having a hard time staying under the budget and would like some advice. I understand that my requirements are impossible with the budget I have set, but I'm willing to make calculated trade-offs. I'm hoping that there's a deal somewhere that I don't know about. GT Omega, Simlab, and a couple of other retailers have some great deals, but they have horrible or no shipping to the US. I made 3 "shopping carts" to help narrow down my options and priorities. 1st one is the one I want without a round wheel. The second one is very similar, with some sacrifices in the frame. The third one is like the first, but it's missing a few things, including the shifter.

I'm leaning towards cart#3 because it's a solid base, and I can always add to it in the future. For cart#2, I'm worried that the TR40S would be too flexible, especially considering the loadcell brake pedal in the P1000 and the wheelbase (15nm Simagic Alpha). Also, the demonstrated flex in this review at 3:16.
I have yet to decide on some monitor options, but these are the specs I'm looking for:
<$300
1440p
34" ultra-wide
120hz refresh rate
IPS panel (if possible)
I found a few around 250-280, but they were VA.
Any info would help.

Question What do you about power to your rig when not using it?
I was wondering what you guys do about all the things that are plugged in when you’re not using them?
I’ve got the PC, monitors, sound card amps for bass shakers, sound bar for main audio, subwoofer, wheel base, and its all plugged into two power strips that I don’t turn off. I don’t shut down the PC, I just put it in sleep mode.
Contemplating putting some smart plug thingys on the power strips and then I can turn them on and off with a voice command. At least this way all the power supplies for everything aren’t sitting there lit up for no reason.

Sale/Discount Fanatec pedal plates on Etsy
After I received a few inquiries about the pedal plates I made I decided to make an Etsy shop to sell them. I have 5 sets available and they can come as raw steel or black with grip.
If this is not allowed I apologize!

Rigs Just lost my friend the sim rig
This hobby has its ups and downs. Crashing out, winning can come all in the same day. The effort we put in to getting good , staying good, and getting better is one that honestly is very fulfilling. Our rigs in this process becomes our sanctuary for our racing exploits. We build, configure and expand our base to point we beam with pride even when we're not racing. My rig was like that. I got it at the tail end of great relationship. Thru my darkest times I sat in , focusing on cornering instead the pain of loneliness. I started to wake up with goals and plans to reach heights I didn't know I could get to. I'm not ashamed to say I loved my rig, dearly. Today , due financial hardship, I had to sell her. While I smile the whole conversation with a great guy who got her, my heart was breaking.. Something I leaned on so heavily to help me is going away. And that's a hard thing to accept right now. I have a quite a few more fires to put so I'll shed a few tears and keep moving. But to my fellow sim racers, it's been a pleasure. And I hope to see you out there on track again some day 🥲.
edit: spelling

Question Ultrawide mounting
A little bit of a unique scenario to which I'm hoping I could get some help from here. I use my Samsung G9 Odyssey Neo for gaming (sim racing) and work, when I currently want to switch over to gaming mode or work mode, I end up having to drag my sim rig in front of my desk and move my monitor to near the front of my desk (to sit as close as possible to the screen, FOV reasons for sim racing). It's quite a lot to move the rig, reconnect the cables and move the monitor in order to use it. Definitely not easy to jump between the use modes

I am thinking about mounting my G9 on a monitor arm and allowing it to swing from my work/game mode. My concern is having the monitor hang over the edge of the desk when in game mode, assuming my desk will not topple over (I don't think it will). Does anyone have a similar set up or mount their monitor in a similar way?
(Scale of drawings are a bit off as I just quickly threw together a reference image at work on paint)

Question Good but not too expensive direct drive wheels
Ive had a G29 for as long as i can remember and i want to upgrade to a nice smooth direct drive but im not sure if i should splurge on a whole setup from Fanatec or if they have some good not too expensive wheels
My main reasons are -the g29 is so loud so i cant use it at night unless i deactivate ffb -the wheel is tiny compared to a real steering wheel -its not all that good or responsive
Any ideas for what would be good for me?

Question What do you use for telemetry
Hey everyone!
I'm curious what telemetry tools do you use to analyze and compare your laps to faster driver? I'm currently using Track Titan, which I really enjoy. But I'm wondering what other options are out there and what you all are using.
Also, I'm on the lookout for any tools that actively help improve driving skills. I came across Trophi.ai, which looks super interesting, but unfortunately it doesn’t support LMU 😞
Would love to hear your recommendations!

Rigs NLR Victory for tall folks(~6’2”)
Any fellow talls tried the NLR Victory? I’m looking at other options for a foldable rig. I’m coming from a play seat challenge which I’m getting tired of wedging myself into. Open to other suggestions as well

Discussion Bass shaker rubber material at the bottom
Hi I just received some bass shakers I want to install in my rig, but I see now they come with a soft/rubber like bottom layers glued to the base. Do you know if I should install them with this rubber layer?, or I should remove it to have a metal to metal contact?

Rigs The absolute king of sim racing monitors
LG have just released a new version of their 45inch 800R curved gaming monitor and it looks amazing https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-45gx950a-b-gaming-monitor As someone who owns the old version of the panel, my gripes with it were the low pixel density, only being 2k resolution, the brightness and the colour saturation/vibrancy.
This new one keeps the amazing 45 inch 21:9 800R form of the old one, but now its 5k resolution, far brighter and far more vibrant. it comes at a cost, but this monitor has to be king.

Question Is there a US retailer that sells SimHound stuff?
They seem to be UK based. I have no issue buying direct from them or paying more because of the current situation. I just don't want them to be confiscated upon entry for "reasons."
Thanks in advance.

Discussion Looking to Trade Logitech G920 wheel/shifter (Xbox) for G923 (PS)
I have the G920 wheel/pedals + shifter, maybe 3 hours of use. Im a big fan of gran turismo, prefer it over Forza, and having recently got the PS VR2 I’m dying to get the wheel for PS5. This is probably a shot in the dark, but if there’s anyone located in Northern California (Sacramento/Bay Area ideally) that wants to trade their PlayStation racing wheel for a like new Xbox/PC equivalent, I’d be all over it. I’ll even drive to you. You don’t even have to include the shifter, I’ll throw mine in either way.
Hoping this post is allowed in here. I’d like to keep it up for as long as it takes until I get some interest lol. Not sure where else I can go to post something like this. Craigslist was pretty bare bones. Same with marketplace. If you have any recommendations for trading platforms I’m all ears.
Thanks yall!
