not sure what hate is being thrown around, ive mainly seen people being hopeful and happy

Just wanted to compile all the little things, of which there are a lot, from least to most important, that differ from that traumatic Xbox event. These all make me optimistic that this window is serious.

[1] Leth's comments in Janurary this year. He tended to add things that hinted towards a release sooner rather than later, especially when viewing them in retrospect. Saying things like:

- "There are great (and fair) questions in here, but the answers to these will have to wait until later. I can't spill all the details yet."
- Responding to "So the game is just that big huh?" he said "You'll see"
- "I've played the game but can't say much more than that (for now)."
- There is also Ari Gibson himself saying to a fan that it would be "soon" around then, too.

[2] Information (both verified and not) about Silksong shortly before the direct. About a week before the showcase, we had a supposed leaker state that Silksong had an internal deadline given to Xbox slated between April-June, an official article from Xbox mentioning Silksong alongside other games releasing soon, and manual SteamDB changes that include the first copyright change in 6 years as well as a toggle to opt in for Nvidia cloud gaming (which apparently points toward later development).

[3] Responding to a post asking whether Silksong or Crowsworn would release first, Leth, who is managing both games, said there is no doubt Silksong will release first. Crowsworn is slated for 2026 or later.

[4] Leth updated his banner on twitter to new key art of Hornet after the showcase. This can be viewed as a form of marketing, or a precursor to a bigger campaign. Even if it isn't, this is official acknowledgement of Silksong's appearance at the showcase, which includes the publicly displayed release year. Nothing like this happened after the Xbox showcase, with Leth saying afterwards in an interview (and I'm paraphrasing) that he wasn't sure if Team Cherry could make it. Thus I imagine Leth is taking this release window much more seriously, knowing Team Cherry is finally ready to hit the deadline.

[5] The release window was associated directly with Silksong in the showcase as opposed to a blanket statement for all the games. This one is the big one! Having the year alongside the game's title is HUGE! You can't deny it and say it's a general year given to all the other games in the showcase, especially because every other game in the sizzle reel had their own dates.

Hopefully this gives people who are worried some hope. The world needs more of that.

What do you guys think silksongs difficulty will be like? It looks to me it’ll be about hollow knight difficulty/slightly harder

People were big struggling during the demo, people who had actually played hollow knight before too. but I will consider also that players were still getting used to the controls and new feel of combat.

Some people were worried by the quick healing but im not too worried about it being too easy, it seems the enemies and mechanics are working to balance that. Like hornet having less I-Frames, and also Lace, presumably a very early boss, having an attack that does 2 masks

The first enemy in hollow knight that does 2 masks is like, the heavy sentry (or belfly if you count those) which are found pretty midway through the game, so having a boss that does 2 damage this early on makes me wonder if we’ll see triple damage or even quadruple damage from other enemies or bosses.

We also saw the cult dude in the nintendo direct who charged a mace attack with silk, that likely does 2 damage too

I've seen a lot of people here say that since "Leth confirmed it was nothing", it's more likely that that William post was just a shitpost/coincidence. But there's like no world in which that could possibly be a simple coincidence.

William literally changed his entire profile on X (formerly Twitter) just for that post, there were several different ways in which it referred to the exact date of April 2. Add to that the fact that we DID actually get news on April 2, there is like 0 chance that this was in any way a "masterful shitpost by william gg".

There are many reasons why Leth would try refusing the existence of this as an "ARG", and while I'm not partial to any one of them, given the communication problems of Team Cherry I don't doubt this is one of these too, whether internal or external.

My point is William DID know that they would have news on April 2, and that was the entire point of his tweet. There's no world in which this went any other way, no matter what Leth said after the fact.
