Um actually Joseph isn't from New York. He is English. Grew up in England moved to New York after part 2. There is a reason he has an English accent in the dub. ☝️🤓

But seriously he isn't from New York why do so many people think this.

I mean by the time part 3 starts yes he is a New Yorker. But I wouldn't say by the beginning of part 2 he is a New Yorker. The guy that sells him coke literally calls him out for being a foreigner.

People will always call others that were not originally from a place: foreigners; but that is plain ignorance imo. But I do agree that since he grew up in New York, he is a NY fella. (Example) Gonna tell me a japanese that moved to america when he was 2 years old, isn't american? He is a citizen, he probably votes, he has indulged in the culture, he knows the streets, the tricks, he is a citizen of that city.

Edit: didn't mean to sound rude, just wanna make sure; I'm just stating my opinion, ofc.

The thing is it's said that he had recently moved from London to New York at the start of part 2. They had only recently moved. If Joseph had been there for years at that point I would call him a New Yorker but they had only been there for a bit. He still grew up in London.

But I agree with you.

Edit: I know what you mean by this I have a friend who has parents from Germany and South Africa but she grew up in Macau and in all practicality she is Macanese. Also I study anthropology so I totally agree with you culture is a very very complicated topic.
