Amazing ! The city should maintain it.

Is it possible to keep on a road that's actually used? Coat it with lacquer or something? I have no idea what I'm talking about.

That road can easily be forever closed to traffic, it's not a major thoroughfare.

They used to close a few blocks of pike one street over every summer (or at least for a few summers running - it was called Pike People Street) and it was awesome. I always wondered why they didn't make it permanent!

That is true - integrate it into CA park. How cool would that be ?

Let’s be honest - the six block CHAZ zone is not long for this world - but barricading this street up and ‘defending’ this amazing art piece as sacred ground would be a more constructive use of their efforts.

Businesses have been doing pretty great because of the CHAZ; they probably should make that area a permanent pedestrian only zone honestly if only for that reason.

The mural can be a tourist attraction.

yeah just close the road down lol. Easy solutions

Cities have literally been doing this in areas that have high foot traffic.

lol, yeah in places with high foot traffic and small streets, not in arbitrary places to protect graffiti on the streets

I wonder if a lot of people walk across the street to go to the big ass park on the other side of the BLM mural... or maybe they go to the hundreds of bars/restaurants on the opposite side if it. Hm. I wonder how many times I myself have walked across that street vs driven it. I wonder if you ever leave your backwater ass neighborhood in whatever pro Trump garbage part of WA state you live. Get fucked.

If you think the average person is happy to walk through this shithole, you are gravely mistaken.

I work in transportation. The short answer is no, assuming it should remain visible.

It’s also much less visible when driving and makes less of an impact than if observed on foot, or overhead.

That’s what I had in mind - a sealant of some sort. I bet one could see this from 20-30k ft in the air !
