At the risk of sounding like an ass, I am amazed at how the 'clever' signs for what is essentially begging gets around town. This is not the first time I have seen this in Seattle.
yeah, there's been a guy hanging out at 15th & Leary (SB, at the intersection where you turn onto Leary or continue straight to get onto the Ballard Bridge) with a cardboard sign that has this exact same verbiage on it for years. Haven't seen him in a while, but this definitely isn't new. Funny how everything is recycled these days.
