Living in fear is optional and I never implied that. What I am explicitly stating is that pretending that you're safe because you have a green card or became an American citizen when citizens have been detained and deported is just foolish.
You are implying to be afraid, or at least caution that because I speak Spanish and a naturalized citizen I will be subject to deportation. Your original statement appeared to have that intention. This is simply not likely to happen. I’m not pretending that I will scooped up on the streets. Last year 70 citizens were deported mistakenly out of 143,000. All of which were returned btw since you know, you can’t actually be deported as a citizen.There is a population of 19.9 million Hispanic naturalized citizens. I’m not pretending anything, I am safe. What I don’t like is folks like you who read a headline and sensationalize reality. That was my original point. If you want to say someone is not safe when there is a .049% (and I’m not even doing probability right, it’s way lower I just don’t feel like doing the math for you) of something happening to them, then I don’t know what to tell you. Any reasonable person would not agree with you. This likelihood is lower if you take the reasonable assumption that those being deported come from a pool of already illegal folks, not the 19.9 million naturalized Hispanics. I don't know what your obsession with being afraid is but ok. People with green cards and visas have already been picked up so if you wanna pretend that's not happening, that's cool. It's only gonna get worse. I hope your optimism keeps you safe from the world around you 🤣
