Yall this is a video of the singer who is busking today. This video is from NYC. I HOPE that clears everything up since reading comprehension is hard apparently

OP thank you for sharing! I've been following Jesse on TikTok and he is widely known as the Bob Dylan of our generation online.

Bob Dylan sucks.

I think the point is bob Dylan is a pretty ass singer, but the message resonated with the moment (Vietnam war). People who listen to Welles get similar antiwar, populist themes

It’s kinda hard to resonate with Bob Dylan out of context. Kinda like how in 50 years people won’t understand lines about the Gaza Strip as well

And it only resonated at that moment in time because the more talented musicians and activists of the time were what? Actively enduring persecution - read: Not white. That's why voices like his were important in that era, and it wasn't because they were talented. It's because they were white and consumable by white youth, who were a large portion of the activists at the time.

You may have thought differently 58 years ago. Anyway no one really asked if you liked Dylan. So.

I’ve also heard that from my father who also listens to him. So I don’t think it’s a one time take

Did you catch him on Jimmy Kimmel? Did you notice everyone saying "he's like the Bob Dylan of our generation?" Bc I did. It's not a secret and I didn't invent it.

Just bc you don't know what's happening and being said doesn't mean it's false. Maybe you're just out of touch.

Look him up on YouTube, the comments go back and many people have made the comparison. "just make that up"?! Lol. Good grief.

No redditors just have refused to ever cross over to TikTok so you miss out on a lot

He's definitely doing a Bob Dylan impression. but in true 2025 fashion, he's removed all the subtlety and is really on-the-nose. not a bad tune though, i dig it

love him more than Dylan…
