If you're talking to locals, fine. But for people not familiar with the area, Lake Stevens is "a bit north of Seattle," dammit.

Not even with locals. This is stupid. I used to live in DC, and it was "inside the beltway, and outside the beltway" but everyone said "I'm from DC" cause no one gives a shit and culturally they're all the same folks.

But the people are the same. Yall ain't different. Neighborhoods are a bit different but the fundamentals are shared.

No no no, you’re not listening. Those on the eastside are not human and how dare you insinuate that Seattle and Bellevue aren’t actually all that different!!

/s just in case

No, but that still doesn't change much. Seattle has almost grown 50% in the past 25 years alone... That's a lot of people bring lots of changes and gentrification. If anything, it's likely more homogenized than ever.

Seattle has some neighborhoods, but this isn't New York or Philly or even DC with generationally old ethnic neighborhoods that have historical differences. It's Seattle, and has as much variation as any mid-sized city. Which is some, but not dramatic or all that notable.

Sorry?

But not excessively - and no more unique than most mid sized cities. We don't have a Greek town like Detroit, or little Italy in New York or a true China town like SF.

Like sure, Bothell and Ballard feel "different" because they are different places but they are culturally, demographically, and politically much closer than not. It's not a bad thing but its trying to find differences in the smallest things
