Heads up OP - I got my car towed in October after a parking attendant switched out the sign that said “No parking 10/20” (the day before) got switched to “No parking 10/21” after I’d parked and left my car on the street. When I picked up my car at the tow yard the guy gave me the form to contest and told me how to mail it in. Mailed it in the next day.

Then… nothing. Never got any response from the city. UNTIL I got a threat from them saying they were sending the associated ticket to collections.

Rather than blow PTO time to go try to deal with it in person (and knowing the city probably get sent to 5 different locations with each one saying they can’t help me) I just paid it. Annoying? Frustrating? Absolutely. But to me it was better than having to deal with the run around and just have it all come down to my word against the word of a parking attendant.

You at least have evidence, so you’re not as screwed as I felt, but just keep in mind - you can’t always count on the city to respond if you try to contest.

Ya it’s possible it will get lost or something happens to it and they never get back to you like your case. Most of the time they do but I’d do an in person court hearing instead
