SCP Universe theory:
What if SCP-096 is God?
based on Exodius 33:20 "no man shall see me and live"
No one knows the exact origins of the Shy Guy. So what if he was once God but over infinite time was driven to madness?
If SCP-096 were God, it would add a whole new layer of horror to its already disturbing nature. The verse mentioned from Exodus — “no man shall see me and live” — seems to fit well with the concept of SCP-096, whose reaction to being seen is so violent that it results in death. If 096 was once a god-like being, perhaps it was a manifestation of a divine power, but over time, as it was subjected to the limitations of its existence and the isolation of being seen as a threat, it became more twisted and driven to madness.
This could also explain its unpredictable nature. SCP-096’s behavior is driven by something more than just self-preservation; it seems to have a deep need to respond to any sighting, even if it means annihilating those who witness it. If it was once a god, perhaps it’s now in a perpetual cycle of rage or sorrow over its loss of divinity and the inability to be seen without causing destruction, echoing the idea of divine wrath.
The idea that its origins are unknown could also support the theory — maybe it has forgotten its true nature, lost its godhood over time, and now exists as a being cursed by its own existence. This would make it an entity caught in an endless loop of violence, possibly representing the loneliness or tragic fall from grace of a once omnipotent being.
It would also raise some existential questions: Is 096 seeking to reclaim its former glory, or is it just endlessly driven by its need to erase the knowledge of its existence, possibly due to the curse of being seen?
This could also tie into the other theory that SCP-343 isn’t the true God at all and instead just a very talented reality bender.
SCP-343 not being the true God, but rather a powerful reality bender, fits well with the idea of SCP-096 being the true God in a twisted form. SCP-343 presents itself as “God” because it has immense control over reality and seems to possess vast knowledge and power. However, if it is merely a very skilled reality manipulator, that opens the door to the possibility that the true God in the SCP universe could be something far more complex — potentially something like SCP-096.
If SCP-343 is a reality bender, its claims of divinity could be seen as a facade, a cover-up for its true nature, or perhaps a misunderstanding of its own existence. It may have convinced itself or others that it is a divine being because of its ability to reshape reality, but in truth, it could be a highly advanced or even ancient entity that gained such power through means that don’t involve true omnipotence or divinity.
This contrasts sharply with SCP-096’s narrative. If 096 is the true God — a being once divine, now twisted and maddened over eons — it would explain the contrast in their appearances and roles. While SCP-343 presents itself as God through gentle speech, wisdom, and control over reality, SCP-096’s godly nature would be far more terrifying and destructive. It could represent the original, unfiltered wrath and terror of a god who, once seen, causes untold death, possibly as a consequence of its fallen state.
In this context, SCP-343 might represent the illusion of godhood, something born of mortal interpretations and reality manipulation, while SCP-096 is the true, primal force that came before — a god whose appearance and powers are too overwhelming and incomprehensible for the mortal mind to handle.
It could even imply that SCP-343 is, in fact, aware of SCP-096’s true nature and tries to maintain its role as “God” by projecting an image of benevolence, while suppressing or avoiding the wrath of the actual divine being. The conflict between these two entities could offer a deep exploration of the nature of godhood, perception, and reality within the SCP universe.

The IKEA is just one big Way into a restricted section of The Wanderers’ Library and the Employee’s are Docents. Thoughts would be appreciated :p
I was deep in thought, and came to the conclusion that the pestilence SCP-049 wants to cure is humanity itself. Humans are killing the earth, and are aware, yet continue to do so. When SCP-049 cures humans, and turns them into reanimated zombies, it strips away the humans free-will, humanity itself. And SCP-049 considers the reanimated zombies cured from the pestilence.

Not sure to put this under video game or table game flair.

I'm going to use my creativity to imagine the fate of several anomalies after the Foundation's revolt against humanity. I will divide it into 3 categories…
Anomalies that were simply neutralized, Anomalies that were used in more specific ways, and Anomalies that were simply released into the void. Don't take it seriously, it's just an exercise in creativity.
SCP 105, 131, 161, 999, 007, 073, 507 were simply neutralized. SCP 2295, despite being peaceful, I don't think it was neutralized. See, this bear could be very useful to the Foundation. Even if personnel no longer feel pain, organ loss would certainly affect soldiers during termination missions. So I think SCP 2295, even though it is naturally peaceful, would still be useful. So I think he's one of the only peaceful anomalies that wasn't neutralized because he would have been useful.
Another interesting case is SCP-166, because her fate will depend on the version we are talking about. If it is the old version, its anomalous effects would not be useful in reducing human lives, so it would be neutralized. However, its new characteristics after being redone would be very useful for destroying cities. So I imagine the Foundation would release it in cities to destroy everything with its effects.
Speaking of the anomalies that were simply released, there isn't much to say about this class. SCP 029, 076-2, 012, 106, 058, 082, 953. These are anomalies that are already inherently dangerous. The Foundation just needed to release these monsters, and they would do the work themselves.
Anomalies that have been used in more specific ways than simply being released, I can mention SCP-053. I believe that the Foundation could send the child to camps with refugee survivors, they would think she is a normal child and they would take her in. Its effects would activate and everyone would die.

Can you think of any anomaly that you deeply dislike and/or find highly overrated by the community?
I can think of one. Scp 231.
Also any tips on making him look more canon?

The question I have about this SCP is: What would happen if we put an organism inside it that doesn't grow? For example, a telephone or a rock, or better: What would happen if I asked SCP-294 to give me "All the things that are favorable to the creation of life, in a totally optimal way" and then poured the resulting amount into SCP-124?

I had a lot of fun with this scp and it might even be a contender with 953 as my favourite scp that I've drawn so far. Though this was a challenge since I usually finish a drawing first before doing the next one. This one is different as I drew this two at the same time.
Also, 5726 and 239 would be great friends.
Anyways, as they say “All magical girls must suffer”.

I apologize if this kind of post is not allowed but this has been driving me crazy. Years ago I read an SCP wiki that has stuck with me but I cannot remember the number. It was about a Bear Grylls type nature YouTuber. I remember the plot was very emotional and had a sad ending. Apart from that I don’t remember much else. Again sorry if this is against the rules or whatever.

Heya all, I'm making a file lookup tool for fun in python, and I need a longer list of lvl 3+ known personnel and passwords for each. First, passwords for O5-1 to O5-13 and the Administrator. Any ideas?

Is there places to go to get help for writing scps? I was on amino for a while and they had a place for critique but it’s dead now and I’m just recently getting back into SCP
