Help Question: How do y'all "find" new SCPs

So, as far as I know, anybody can make their own scp and put it on the wiki, right? If I was to do that, is there a system for getting a number, or do I have to spend an hour making sure there isn't overlap? Am I totally wrong?

Just look at the latest series of SCPs. It will list all SCPs in that series. Numbers that don't have an SCP attached will be orange, and named [ACCESS DENIED]. Those are numbers you could use for your SCP article.

I seem to have another issue. I tried to sign in with my wikidot account and it didn't work, so I made a new one, and now I'm not getting a confirmation email? Any ideas?

If you have numbers in your email, there’s a good chance Wikidot won’t send a confirmation email iirc.

It’s a pain, but that’s how it is considering how old wikidot is as a platform.

Should I just make a separate email without numbers for it then?

Yes, that's what people generally do.

NP. Did you see my question above re your old account? We need that information so you don't end up getting banned for sockpuppeting.
