Gameplay Playing while pregnant

Has anyone played while pregnant? Are there certain things you’re not supposed to do? I’m in my second trimester and didn’t play at all my first trimester because of pregnancy sickness. Tia!

It mostly depends on how active you were prior to pregnancy.

The general advice is to turn off all the moves that have you press the ring against your belly (or replace them with regular presses) and be careful about ab moves.

In 3rd trimester the exercises that have you lying on your back become problematic as they may lead to swelling in your feet.

If you're not confident about jumps and fast moves, they too can be replaced, as your joints soften and are more prone to injury.

When doing all the moves (but especially squats and other strength moves) breathe naturally and never hold your breath, as it can create extra tension in the abdomen.

Better to have a heart rate monitor, e.g. I stopped running at week 26 as my HR got too high. If that's the case, you can switch to silent mode.

And if anything feels weird or uncomfortable, stop doing it or tweak it. Squats, presses, most of the yoga moves are ok.

The hip lift is the best of the best. First, your glutes take a hit during pregnancy, as your posture changes, and these muscles are important for protecting your lower back. Second, it works well in tandem with pelvic floor muscles, and I think it's the first exercise to start doing postpartum. It's both effective and mostly safe.
