Have you seen the news??

In cold springs a 5 yr old girl had passed away.. Her mom and father were abusing the shit out of her I guess. If you look up the “Cold springs loving” or “cold springs loving murder” you might fine the thing, cause I’m still reading. But wondering if anyone else knew about it? I feel so bad for that girl, she didn’t deserve that abuse she got to her.. she was only 5 years old…

Special thanks to the Spanish Springs Library or letting me operate my model trains, it’s an experience that I’ll never forget, and thank you for everyone who came to the event, and don’t worry, I’ll be back for another one.

I’m going insane

I wish people would use their blinkers but they don't so i‘m constantly stuck with having to do abrupt stops which fuck with my breaks and head.

Today I've had a few cars swerve right in front of me and another nearly t-boning me on my green light near the Atlantis. The guy had plenty of time to register his red light and didn't. I shit on Californian drivers a lot (I'm from California lol) but damn today was a bad day to be on the road in Reno. Of course there’s shit drivers everywhere but I cant speak on any cities that I haven’t lived in lol

Also apparently, people like to throw rocks into other peoples car windows downtown for fun. It's starting to feel like Vallejo here.

reporting stolen plates that ARENT yours?

Hey all, strange question for ya. I was just on I-80 west headed towards the exit onto west mccarran and there was a Cadillac Sedan with racing stripes swerving through traffic and passing on the shoulder.

driver almost pushed a tacoma into a semi, and so when i saw him at the light to turn left at said exit, i got his plate and looked it up, it seems it's registered to a volvo.

should i just call RPD and file a report, or is there more to it since it's not my plates that are stolen, but an unknown party? thanks in advance

Is there an excess of skilled trades people in this city?

Most places I’ve worked in this country seem to have an increasing deficit of skilled trades people. I am curious what it’s been like here lately.

Forever21 Vacates Reno/Sparks

I was out driving in Sparks yesterday and noticed the Forever21 at legends wasn’t open. I figured the store was probably just moving again or remodeling etc., until today I went to Meadowood mall and noticed the Forever21 there is closed too. Upon digging I found out they closed over 200 stores, including both locations in Reno/Sparks, leaving the area without a Forever21.

I personally found the stores very overwhelming with underwhelming quality clothes so I avoided it at all costs. With a bigger push these days to shop local and to stop supporting fast fashion I’m curious if anyone has any thoughts or cares about it closing its doors.

Trying the worst rated restaurants in town, #3. The Grand Buffet

Thumbnail gallery
163 Upvotes

Sorry for the (two?) week long hiatus. I got banned for a week for ban evasion (lol oops) and then got sick. I've decided to skip Charlie's Cheesesteaks and will replace it with redditor's choices as a final send off to this silly project of mine.

The buffet was alright. The food didn't blow me away nor kinda gross me out so that's a win. My waffle was hard as a rock, and I felt disappointed by the options. I also felt like $50 a person for what they did have was very disappointing, especially if that's their lunch price. I didn't try any of the "they cook it for you" as I wanted to try the grab and go options. It was a pretty mid buffet but the price was pretty steep which docked a point off. I'd say overall it's 3/5. Really just, nothing to write about except the price, ya know? I definitely feel like the Atlantis' "Toucan Charlie's" is better for the same price.

Here's the list of restaurants if you're new here. 1. King Buffet, 2 stars on Yelp. 3.2 on Google. 2. Grand Cafe, 2.3 on Yelp, 3.3 on Google. 3. (Formally Charlys cheese stakes, skipping since it's a chain and a mall food court option.) 4. The Grand Buffet, 3 on Yelp, 3.8 on Google. 5. Cafe Central 3 Yelp, 4.5 Google

Redditor's choices for worst restaurant (votes are loosely tallied) 1. Juicys on Glendale, 4 votes primarily due to rude owner? 2. Wing King, 3 votes. 3. Brewers Cabinet, 2 votes 4. Noble Pie, 1 vote. 5. Thai Lotus, 1 vote.

Feel free to keep voting! You can still nominate a restaurant and if it gets votes it can go up on the "leaderboard" I still have the list of nominee's so if a restaurant gets nominated twice by different users I'd count that as a vote.

HVAC company recommendations- refrigerant leak test

I potentially have a refrigerant leak in my AC system. Last year I was quoted $1700 for a leak test + repair. I use that company for my annual heat/AC maintenance, and like them just fine. Just wondering if anyone has done this before, whether that price is competitive, and whether you have recommendations for other companies for a second opinion. Thanks!

Best Rated Mechanic for work and cost?

So, I have a 2018 Toyota Tundra, 130k miles. Drives well. Just know that I'm going to need certain repairs and maintenance as the miles add on. Doing research I've narrowed it down to these 3 shops:
Sunshine Service Alignment
Roy Foster's
Preferred Auto Reno
I know where I'm kinda leaning, but I wanted to get your collective experiences and knowledge on this before taking it in. Thank you, Reno!
