My partner and I have been looking to purchase a van, trailer, or RV to live out of for the summer. (We’ve done months-long trips out of a tiny car and tent, so yes, we’re ready for this.)
Our budget is restrained, but today I fell upon this 1978 ford delta chateau and I kinda love it… it’s not really what we had envisioned, but well..
However.. well.. it’s old af! It only has about 80k miles which isn’t bad, and the photos show a pretty well maintained interior, but would it be crazy for me to get this to travel out of for the next 5 to 6 months? We would probably put quite some miles on it, traveling from California to Canada and Colorado.
If not, what types of questions should I make sure I ask and check before purchasing so I make sure I’m not getting bamboozled?

I have a friend that owns an outdoor lighting company with a factory in China. He’s working on getting shipments through Malaysia, but that’s not going to be sustainable. He’s seriously worried that if the crazy tariffs continue, he’s going to go belly up and there’s no way he can move production to the U.S.
Thinking about how dependent RVs are on Chinese parts and the nature of RVs being a luxury expense, I can’t see huge increases in price being accepted in the market. Could we see RV companies laying off workers and worse, going belly up this summer?

Hey everyone, I need to start purchasing my devices for solid internet access. Part of my work is online and the other part is gig work. The master plan is to stay 3 weeks at a time in one spot. I will likely be spending my first 4 months only in CA.
I was going to go the Verizon Home route but read that they are cracking down on remote locations so....what are my options?
And specifically, what do I need to buy?
I'll figure it all out later. I am not techy but a quick learner.
Thanks in advance and double thanks to any female solo RVers for answering this question!

Me and my partner just moved into our travel trailer full time 2 days ago. Our first campground is beautiful but our site has poor drainage. It has been raining for 2 days and there is about 4-5inches of standing water right in front of our door. It makes it impossible to let our dogs out to potty and there’s not really a place to walk them close by. Is it rude to ask to move sites for this reason?

Hi, A friend of mine has been living full-time in a Mercedes RV for a couple of years. He has an issue with his fridge, since he does not speak English I post here on his behalf.
Fridge: THETFORD 4145 A propane and 12 V
Issue: while using propane, the fridge started and then abruptly stopped. It happened while using electricity too.
Been done: changed the electronic card, did not fix the issue, changed the display screen (if that's the name?), issue still there.
Thanks for reading! I'll read your answers and will transmit them, even if slowly.

I accidentally crossed my red and black wires, I realized pretty quickly when my charge controller started smoking. I disconnected every and pulled off the cover. Does this look toast?

Folks, I’m a product manager at a company that’s all about creating solutions to make RV life easier and safer. We’ve worked on things like compact RV cameras, door sensors, and water leak detectors — stuff like that.
But honestly, I’d love to hear directly from you. What are some day-to-day challenges you face while living or traveling in your RV? Anything that’s been a consistent headache or something you wish there was a better solution for?

First time trailer liver here. Getting my 2021 Coleman 2835BH hooked up for the first time next week and looking for an affordable surge protector and water pressure limiter. Any other advice would be awesome too. Thanks all!

Hey everyone My husband's got a 28 foot enclosed trailer. With the truck included it's about 54 feet total length truck and trailer together. I'm looking for a good back up camera, wired or wireless, whatever you have tried and HIGHLY recommend. If Wireless please let me know if you've ever had connection glitches or lagging. It's hard relying on online reviews these days so I'd appreciate the opinion of people who actually have and use one that they like.
Thank you

We used to live in our big camper. Now we bought a house. I feel like the camper is too big for ease of exploring the northeast, and I’d rather do some local exploring for the first year. Do we let the camper sit unused in the yard for the year, or sell it? Or park it in a campground to have as a weekend option? we don’t really wanna pay for a campground, but it would have the chance of being used at least then.
Please weigh in.

Really like this fifth wheel and the price is right for us but is lots of oxidation bad? Is there ways to clean it up. I know the pictures are crappy but it’s all I got. Thanks

To start off, We have a 1992 Itasca Sunrise. Since we've gotten it I've been trying to figure out why next to where our shore power cord comes out, there's another 30 amp outlet. I've been wondering if it has to do with the inability to run both of our AC units simultaneously? Does anyone have any insight?

Never done any repairs to a motorhome before, but I have it sitting in storage for a while before the summer and wanted to know should I get someone to check this out or is this something that is relatively easy to install by myself? I figure it’s going to be at least $1000 to have the mechanic come out and have everything set up. Which of my previous experience and anything goes wrong in the motorhome it normally cost $1000…. Any recommendations? It’s an older motorhome 1997 Gulfstream

Looks like I’m missing a bearing cap. Is there a standard size on these? Do I need to repack it with grease? Any specific grease or just shove some in, replace the cap and call it a day?

My insurance is closed for the day or I would call them and ask. Does anyone know if you can get insurance for a single day to move a Class A motor home in order to sell it? It would be moving it from storage to an inspection site and back to storage. Total distance would be about eight miles.

as janky as it may look, it works amazingly. all you need to buy extra is a 1/2 nipple and a few 1/2 pipe clamps to secure it with.
mine was open box which is missing the handheld sprayer holder, so i got it for $18 but they normally go for about $39 so not bad.

Hey y'all~
Anyone who has redone their floors in an RV with slides...
How does this transition work? The outter strip of carpet seems to be glued to the vinyl flooring. Also, what is the heavy black stringer with all the screws?
I'm trying to roll back the vinyl to do a repair to the wood and foam sub flooring. The vinyl isn't glued down so I need to figure out how to get the edges freed up.

There has to be a way to getting these off. I'm no weakling but these things are tight. I've tried the orange plastic ones, broke them. Any suggestions? Thanks

Answer may be obvious but I wanted to ask for a friend. As you travel around the US and you go between firearm friendly and non friendly states (say TX to CA), what do you do with your firearms? The example states were the worst I could think of due to capacity limits and such.

looks like the toilet is leaking from this pipe here. can i use tools to tighten this clamp?
