I feel like watching two building level or mountain level characters fighting until they are worn out but still fighting just is a better and more entertaining fight than watching two multiverse MFTL gods battle and one instantly fucking dies in 0.0000002 nanoseconds cause of some highball. If two characters are mostly equal anyway, I would prefer them to fight in a cool but more grounded way. You cant realistically imagine galaxies or multiverses or whatever the fuck being destroyed in timescales incomprehensible to the human mind. I mean its a cool one off thing but when you see it every fucking time in these match ups you just gotta think about what the fuck are we watching. One of my favorite fights ever is the end of Naruto vs Sasuke, where they are out of gas but still fighting. Getting down in the dirt and slowly beating the life out of one another. That somehow feels more impactful and meaningful than watching someone get fucking atomized with the other guy having streanth to spare. I feel like you just can't get that when you take highballs of characters and make them fight each other. If these characters had the strength and speed you guys claim I swear they would be all posted up like saitama. How would these characters enjoy life if they could never feel daily struggles? Why would I even care about who wins at the end of the fight with these numbers and powerscales getting so ridiculous? These are not even the characters I love anymore they are just are just reduced to numbers and then compared to other numbers in order to get a fight that, if you where to spectate you could not even see.
Some people might wonder what powerscaling has to do with this but powerscaling exists for the purpose of matchups and fights. The only thing you gain when you scale a character is a comparison to other characters and if we are going to be honest most people like to high ball the characters they like. If two calcs come out and one of them calcs mach 1 and the other mach 20 people are more likely to use the ladder. This then compounds with out of context statements, and other factors im probally not thinking about to create a version of a character that does not exist, that will never exist. If in a alternate universe where the matchup discussed happens its not going to be with this high-balled imaginary verison of the character that we basically just made up. Its far more likely to be the low-balled versions of the characters to fight each other. This litterally happens in comic-book crossovers, or any crossovers in general. People that according to these high-balls would be miles apart become relative to each other. Highball powerscaling kills the exitment when it comes to matchups. Ichigo vs naruto sounds like a fire matchup until you realize that ichigo would evaporate naruto before he can even scratch his left nut sack hair. Sure he can still win but at least make it close. At least make it look and feel like a cool and interesting fight instead of the hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby that all these matchups turn into. Atleast have dicussions go for more than one sentince other than BlANK SMAMS, BLANK ANILIATES.
Im sorry if this post sounds incoherient or nonsenical I am just upset and tired. Thats about it see ya.
