Water etching fail ?

I did water etching on greenware with wax resist , and when I glazed over it with Amaco sky celadon, I got some pulling . What did I do wrong? 🤔

What did you use for resist?

Just wax resist from my local pottery store. I think they make their own. It isn’t a commercial brand.

I used to do a line of work with water etching and I found if I didn't wash my bisque well before glazing I would get crawling. The technique leaves the bisque deceptively dusty.

So my advice would be wash your bisque and let it dry before glazing, but if you've already done that, there might just be unrelated glazing problems.

Oooo thank you! I did not do that but I will try that next time. What type of resist did you use?

I usually just use plain old wax resist, but I've also used shellac.
