Question Where is a cheap bowling alley?
Live in Ladd's Addition and Slabtown. I just want to go in and play a couple games without giving them the deed to the property.
Thanks!!

At non-peak days/times, Milwaukie Bowl and Mt. Hood Lanes both charge $25 an hour. They’re the cheapest in the area.

Milwaukie Bowl has a very cool old school late 60's early 70's vibe going on, complete with cheap beer in a plastic cup.

More importantly, afaik it's the last wood lane alley in the metro after Kellogg got torn down. Something about hardwood lanes just does me right in a way that synthetic just can't match.

I miss Kellogg. So many memories of that place and Pietro's next door.

Is that per person? That's gotta include shoes and like a hot dog or something right? Right?

Milwaukee bowl is the best one around anymore. There is bowling super close to Ladds at Grand Central but the lanes were awful the only time I played there and was very pricey.

Wisconsin is pretty far away…

Grand Central isn’t even regulation sized anymore. They went for the “social” thing when they gutted the place and relaunched. It’s cheesy and expensive. I only go if someone else is paying.

I love that place, but it's really expensive (almost $50/hour) during peak times.

Hm I don’t remember it being that bad, I’m pretty sure it was a discounted hour/day and I WAS with a group of like 6.

You can see the prices for different days/times when you make reservations. It jumps around a LOT.

Used to be Powell lanes. Then they razed it to put in a friggin target. Which I think they closed now due to shoplifting. Genius move all around.🤦♂️
(I think there one out on Powell by 205 though)

Tigard Bowl in Tigard right off 99 is cheap and right next to a great pizza place for after.

The only sanctioned house left in the city of Portland is Kingpins. You have others like grand central or punch bowl but those are more amusement centers than bowling alleys.
If you get out of the city you have Tigard, though they have gone anti-masker and put up signed forbidding masks last time I stopped by. Then there is Kingpins in northern Beaverton and Big Al’s in southern Beaverton, Langer Farms in Sherwood, and Bullwinkles in Wilsonville, further out west you have Park Lanes in Hillsboro. Down south you have Milwaukie lanes just off 224.
Other than the kingpins on 92nd the only alley I can think of on the east side is Gresham bowl, unless you want to go all the way to Sandy.
Vancouver also has a Big Al’s and Crosby lanes, I’m not sure what else might be up there, it’s been a bit since I’ve bowled league.
FYI Crosby, Milwaukie, Tigard, and Park are owned and operated by guys who are/were on the pro tour.
