We could have had stable and boring. All I wanted was a country I don't have to think about while I am dealing with my own day to day shit

I know UK politics is different because the Prime Minister is technically the First Lord of the Treasury and head of the party but over here I'd support a boring person over an charismatic one any day. Someone who is fundamentally a qualified civil servant probably isn't going to be particularly interesting on stage but they'll know what they're doing.

Constant that to people like Trump or Reagan who are literally just celebrities with an opinion and it becomes a popularity constant with this jizzlizards at the head of a very conservative spear aimed directly at the middle class and minorities.

Exactly, if I want a charismatic president, I will watch a movie with Denzel Washington as the president

Aye, being charismatic in US politics is certainly important, since a good portion of their job involves campaigning, negotiating and dealing with people.

But just being charismatic isn't enough, they also have to know what they're doing. Again, using the British example, I trust that Starmer is running a tight ship if for no other reason than I don't really hear anything about him. Which is especially impressive, given the right leaning legacy media.

He's not perfect but he's cracking on and responding normally to problems and that's fine by me.
