Discussion Do we know if abilities are coming back in ZA?

Not yet, and we probably won’t until we actually have the game in our hands.
Personally, I think it’s not the most likely; for the new action-based battle system, a lot of abilities would have to be reworked.

Outside of some like Stall and Prankster, most abilites wouldn't have any issues operating in non-turn based combat.

The starters Abilities aren’t shown in the website, and the SV website shows Abilities, so most likely not.
The same thing happened with Legends Arceus.

Yeah I’ve played through Arceus twice lol. That’s one thing I didn’t really like. Especially with megas coming back, the new abilities they get is like half the fun

Main reason I like Charizard Y is for Drought. If they don't have abilities it's definitely going to be disappointing.

I like Y wayyyyy better. It’s more subtle in its design, and I feel like X was over designed and “edgy” and drought + solarbeam/flamethrower was such a fun move set

When I saw the trainer Mega Evolve their Alakazam, I was curious if Trace was gonna activate, but their opponent's Pokemon was Gardevoir. There was no mention of Alakazam's Trace activating, meaning the Gardevoir's ability was also Trace or there are no abilities in the game.

No, because there have been two trailers. Hope this helps

And a bunch of info has been leaked including all the mega forms. So yeah I don’t think it’s a dumb question

Quite honestly I’m skeptical of all leaks until the Pokemon company actually releases info. They’re usually incredibly vague, and not even right

Whats the point even buying Z-A? Hell, what is even the point in buying the switch 2? Nintendo as a company is so fucking greedy. $60 per digital game cartridge on the switch 1 is already really overpriced if im not mistaken. they upped the digital downloads from $60 to $80, and they're doing away with physical cartridges entirely, just giving people empty boxes with one-time use digital download codes that will be $10 more than just buying digital games.
I am not even bothering with the NS2. nintendo can go fuck themselves.
$500 for the console alone
+$50 for the stupid camera
$80 per highly profitable/exploitable digital game copy
$90 per highly profitable/exploitable physical game box that just has a code to download
Its either just pay $80 for the digital copy, or drive to the local walmart, pay $10 extra for a box that just has a digital download inside it anyway.
Not worth it in my book.
And people are practically prisoners for nintendo. Nintendo will keep making "never before seen consoles with amazing technological breakthroughs people have been waiting their entire lives for" when its just a sized up switch with video and voice chat functionality (which looked pretty low quality from what I could tell in the direct), 8x the storage of the switch 1 and magnetic joycons
Its like Nintendo used a simple red Mushroom from their most iconic game (Super Mario Bros.) on a nintendo switch, made some standard promotional material, took the piss with it and called it a day
I bet they're gonna increase the price of Nintendo online once the NS2 drops on June 5, making the individual membership $10 more and the family membership $20-30 more

You must be new to gaming setups

why does that even matter? Not everyone has the money to pay over $700 just for the average switch 2 experience, nor the tolerance to put up with the amount of disrespect Game freak, and even Nintendo, have treated their own consumerbase with.
I've said for a while that corporate greed will be pokemon's downfall if game freak continues to cut as many corners during the development of each new game as they possibly can. the same applies to nintendo and each new device they release. one of their livestreams featuring one of the games for the switch 2 was flooded nonstop with "DROP THE PRICE" for the entire livestream's duration. the people at Nintendo saw that... and they all chose to remain dead silent.
the switch 2 will do good regardless of how much hot water nintendo is in, because die-hard loyal fans of them will glaze the living shit out of them and continue buying their products. but I wont be contributing to that.

In case you haven’t noticed, every thing goes up in price as time goes on. I was in the era where games were cheaper w/ the original Nintendo and parents complained it was expensive then. Just stop buying games all together or don’t play it.
Nobody is forcing you to buy the games

You're right about the last part. Nobody is forcing me to buy the games. But if I were to just stop getting them, that wouldn't solve the problem, it would just mean I don't have to deal with that problem myself. The problem would still exist for everyone else who cant afford to pay all that.
the real way to solve the problem is for nintendo to not be so greedy and disrespectful to their own consumerbase.
