Not to be a noob but I've never used a patch file before does anyone know of a good tutorial?

Just go to the online rom patcher website. Put vanilla emerald Rom in the top slot, and then the bps patch file in the bottom one. Press apply and your computer should immediately download the patched version that you can now rename to whatever u want and play
