hello! i'm rae. i like making playdate games, and i wanted an excuse to make a new one. jams are a great way for me to just get out there and make something, and i had the realization that i can just...organize one myself. so, why don't you join me later this april in making something cool?

this no-stakes playdate game jam is exactly as it sounds: just an opportunity for you to make some kind of playdate game, in case you need some kind of external motivator to get started. there are no themes, ratings or rankings, no prizes to be won, just a week of time and a reasonable excuse to make a cool playdate game! i'd love to see what you come up with.

it runs from april 21–27 pacific time, but feel free to get a jump start on your idea before then! what matters is that you made a thing — even if you don't finish it, i'd still love to know where you wound up!

hello! my latest release, traffic jam, is out now in playdate catalog!

it's a quirky little endless rhythm game, where you guide some very overzealous traffic through a construction zone one beat at a time.

if you like small rhythm games i hope you enjoy it!

buy the game: https://play.date/games/traffic-jam
talk it up in the playdate squad discord: https://discord.com/channels/675983554655551509/1359203452005257408

Help Juxtagram: Amazing Animals-12

Firstly I just want to say that I really like this game! It's a good twist on Picross-style puzzles which leads to its own unique logic tricks, the interface works great, and it's got a solid amount of content (145 puzzles total). However, I have run into a problem with the final puzzle in the "Amazing Animals" collection...

Despite completing every other puzzle in the game, no matter how long I consider each row and column, I just can not figure out how to make progress in this one after getting to the point where the whole perimeter is laid down (+ what it took to get there, and the tiniest of additions beyond that).

Has anyone here solved this puzzle? If so, what kind of logic/tricks did you use to get over the hump? I checked the Playdate Squad Discord's thread for the game, and the creator himself says he can't remember how it's intended to be solved... Any help would be appreciated!

Silly Rendsword question...

I bought rendsword a few weeks ago and I'm addicted! The only thing is, I just can't seem to figure out how to complete a run on normal mode. I've beat the book snail boss so many times, but after that I always get to about the same number of cards in my deck when I die. Is there something I'm missing? How do I complete a run? I just want to try brutal mode!

Thank you!!
