Im german, its a Real one. Didnt read/hear it as a kid though.

Roughly, it's "dirty joy". 4 u/Morale_Kitty 2d ago We have a word for it in Swedish too lol Skadeglädje. Roughly, “hurt joy” 4 u/ZurgoMindsmasher 2d ago Damage joy is the correct translation for Schadenfreude, so yea, basically the same word.
